I am getting 16mpg combined. I have been driving pretty conservatively as I only got the truck 2 weeks ago.
The problem is the one time I needed to, I stomped on the pedal to overtake and it felt AWESOME... I can see my gas mileage is going to start going down from now on
I'm with you, yesterday an old style tundra didn't want to let me in, for the first time i stomped on the gas, holy crap that was fun!
The newest Full Size 1/2 Ton Truck Comparison in Popular Mechanics rated the Nissan Titan not only #1 in the comparison overall, but also #1 when it came to gas mileage @ 15.7 mpg.
Like others have already said, if you're looking for great gas mileage, go buy an econo box. Sorry, but that's the reality. Just play Metallica - Fuel everytime you get into the truck and you'll forget all about gas mileage!

04 CC OR air box mod, K&N, 2 1/2 " exhaust, dynomax muffler = 17.4 to 16.4 MPG. Can't gripe with those #s for the power it has! Also put Royal Purple 75/140 in rear end.
Get the LWB w/37 gal tank. You'll never run out of gas! I thought it was leaking out the other side the first time I filled it up. That new feature got by me in my research and totally took me by surprise since I was used to the 28 gal tank on my '04.
So far with freeway/city driving I'm getting ~13-14mpg.

04, King Cab 4x4 little toe - average 12.5, never seen more than 14.5 (mostly all city as attested to my paltry 19,000 miles in 3+ years and driven daily!).
Had on 00 Tundra and it 15.5 in similiar driving conditions, but it was also only packing 235 hp in it's weak little 4.7.
One of my co-workers has a 05 4x2 XE King cab and claims 21+ on highway. I suspect lighter wheels (stocker 17” steelies) and a wimpy foot contribute much to that. My highway driving is rarely less than 65 mph so I’m never getting that.
And you know what? I don’t care. I love this truck. (at 19,000 miles in 3 years I’m hardly buying gas anyway.)
Like others have said - if you're worried about gas milage, you don't want a truck.

04 CC with step bars and recently added CAI. Mixed use driving I get 16-17 mpg. Cruise on the hwy to work at 75 and drive kinda normal around town. Light into the beast and your gas gauge will move as fast as your speedo!

Hi,I'm Troy McClure. You may remember me from such films like: "P is for Psycho", and "The President's Neck is Missing".....
My commute to work has a very short ride on the freeway so my MPG has been around 14 so far. I would prefer 16 but hey, you gotta pay to pay in these big monsters.
summer driving I average about 13.5 best ever on highway trip was just shy of 20.
Winter driving... 11-12mpg. Last Feb during the vtd snow storm I drove 20 miles in 4hi and got about 8mpg granted I was driving through about a foot of wet snow oh well... I knew this when I got it.

I am averaging 13.5 mpg, and as cheap as I am, I just had to put a pencil & paper to it...so here is my justification for the Titan.
I must have 4WD - that's why I bought a new truck. If I would have gotten a Taco or Fronteir 4WD I would probably be averaging say 18 mpg. (Could actually be less) Based on what I have been driving - I figure I will put around 9100 miles on the truck in a year. Right now I am giving $2.65 a gallon for 87 octane. So...using these numbers I am only spending about $445 a year ($37 a month) more on gas with the Titan than I would be with a smaller & less fun truck. Well worth it if you ask me!!!

05cc 4x4 big tow with an all metal topper on, with mixed driving I always stay between 15-16mpg. that does not matter how I drive it. I always get 15-16.
My truck's description is below as it is. My latest trip to Gatlinburg, TN through the rolling hills of NC's I-40, cruise set anywhere from 60-80 as speed limit changed and drove around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge til down to quarter tank. My average was 18.46 mpg and I was TICKLED. Now, the flip side; pulling my 8k lb camper, that's a different story. I only get about 9 mpg while pulling that beast that I LOVE!!!!!! It's 32ft long and 10'4" tall. I am working on an air deflector for the front during the off season and hope to see some improvement in milage seeing as I will continue to pull it every chance I get.
Pulled a 95 stang back from FL to NC with a bed full of stuff. Weight of the car and trailer it was on was about 5k-got 16.2mpg and couldn't tell it was back there most of the time.
My best tank empty was 20.3mpg cruising at 80mph from FL to NC on I-95, but that was before the 20's and wider tires.
