Re: Best sounding cat back exaust?

i'm partial to the flowmaster 40 series. but several love Banks. JBA is supposed to offer the most power gains on the dyno. what are you looking for? LOUD?

FM 40
Banks
Magnaflow 14"

Re: Best sounding cat back exaust?

Banks or FM 40 series.

I have a 18 inch magnaflow with a turn down.
Good sound but not as loud as i would like.
I might go get a 14 or 11 incher.

I had a banks put on 2 weeks ago. Love the sound. Couldn't be happier.

Is there anyway you could post a sound clip of your exhaust?

Re: Best sounding cat back exaust?

banks if you want LOUD........good flow as well. Not being biased here but how can you go wrong with a 3'' Volant system including y-pipe???? Sounds good and nice rumble yet retains that "sleeper" single out look. JBA is popular and good too. do some searches on here to get info.

Re: Best sounding cat back exaust?

I too have read that JBA offers the most power gains but I have yet to see any actual dyno #'s. Their website claims 23 hp but that's with headers so it's obviously less with just the Cat-Back system. I do know they don't hold a candle to Flowmaster or Mac systems for my Mustang & I have dyno #'s to prove it. Most systems I've researched are all within a few hp of each other though I've not seen any #'s on the Flows.

I'm going with the Stillen system as I'm really not into loud; kinda like the sleeper effect.

If you want loud then just take of your muffler but thats if you would have the money to fix your truck a little later lol. I have the jba, sounds nice and a few months after I had it, it got louder, I think its louder than my flowmaster 40series muffler I used to have

Re: Best sounding cat back exaust?

GO with the Banks. It is one of the best sounding of the bunch if you dont mind it being a little on the loud side.
