Propaganda is right! With any manufacturer you would be stupid not to peddle your own truck and prove others are inferior.....marketing!
All trucks have good and bad. For someone to say that one is more superior then the other is an ignorant statement fueled by wrong information or information twisted to ones own benefit.

I love my truck but I would also consider a Tundra if I were looking. I did go look at them. I guess they are not as attractive looking, but heck, I'm in my 40's and really don't care about looks.
I think it is fair to say that at least some of us are biased towards imports, specifically in the reliability department.
If a Nissan Titan is the only truck you could possibly own, I suspect the Current 5.7 Tundra will benefit the next Gen of Titans more than any Consumers Report data (that is so outdated and tainted).
I think their both great trucks.

I've driven them all, the Tundra bed bounce isn't any worse than Ford's. Loosen up a few bed hold down nuts, and see what happens.
Ford used the EXACT same set up on the previous generation Super Duty.
Pickups used C channel beginning with the 1924 Dodge 3/4 ton Express, the first purpose built pickup. No one said a word about C channel durability till Ford (and Titan) first offered fully boxed frames in 2004.
I like propaganda too...if it's true...this bed bounce video ain't!
It wasn't the EXACT same setup. It was the same CONFIGURATION...but the gauge of steel, and frame size were quite different.
BTW...several weeks ago, I pulled up behind a new Tundra that had a heavy load of what appeared to be roofing or building materials in it. The weight had to be out of balance because the bed was actually warped down and to the right. I mean, noticably warped. The tailgate was open...but I'll bet there is no way he could have closed it.
I tihink the Tundra frame has too many compromises...in the wrong places. Torsional weakness is a problem for it.

This video is as phoney as a 3 dollar bill. It's also rigged. I viewed this months ago over at FTE. Notice when the Ford goes over those same bumps, the video is shot from the left front quarter, which shows very little of the Ford's bed (and bounce).
When did anyone here ever see anything on youtube that was real?
The same boxed/C channel frame on Tundras is similar to the frames of the last generation of Ford Stupor Duty's.
Boxed to the rear of the transmission...Heavy C channel to the companion flange (yoke to pinion gear) on the rear axle, smaller C channel to rear.
By the way...the video is real. It was a Ford product development.marketing meeting.
Someone mentioned why Ford didn't include Titan. Why would they? Titan is nowhere close to F150 in sales. Why give Titan any billing?
Titan is actually a well-kept secret.

The bed bounce is a fake. And think about fellas, what does semi truck use for their frames? I last recall they are not boxed frame. I believe they are c-channel. I could be wrong.

The bed bounce is NOT fake! It's a real video and real comparative test.
Semi trucks, and almost every straight truck since the beginning of time have used C-channel frames. But they are HUGE...HEAVY GAUGE frames.
There is no comparison between heavy duty/commercial duty frames and half ton frames. Completely different animals. You can make a C-channel every bit as stiff as a boxed frame. The pentaly will be excessive weight because the only way to do it is with more cross members.

True story, it was about the Line-x bed liner I had installed, which caused the tailgate not to close completely. It took me awhile to realize that it wasn't Toyota's fault.I had this done as soon as I got the truck and had never opened the tailgate until it was Line-Xed. All I had to do was to put the rubber bump stops in a vise and the problem was solved.
I did have a clip on the door panel that was loose from the factory. When I had the XM installed in the NAV I had them reattach it, it was nothing I could not have done myself.
Therefore, no trips to dealer for warranty work yet.
In the same time period with my 05 Titan I would have gone to the dealer 12 times. That would be 1800 extra miles just for warranty work and an additional $300 in fuel. The Titan was very expensive to own.
Ah, gotcha..I never read the story, I just remember seeing that thread title by you a few weeks or so ago.

Here's what makes it even more of an issue...
The older videos showing excessive flex are of the previous generation Tundra. Massive flex, with the bed and exhaust beating each other to death. They obvisouly didn't learn much or do a lot of research.
The issue is...the new generation Tundra has the same problem...but it might even be worse. Look at it this way...if you had a valuable piece of furniture or (you'd be crazy to do this) a person in the back and you hit a short series of potholes, real damage or injury would occur in the Tundra and it would be less likely in the F150, Dodge and Titan.

Thanks to everyone for the links and info. I was starting to wonder if I had made a mistake with my move to a Titan. I have always been a ford man, this is my first Nissan. I had a great relationship with my Ford dealer but Ford itself made some bad decisions with pricing and quaility control that ended that brand loyalty. Bottom line, if I like my Titan thats all that matters, but you have to admit a little smack talk can be fun. You gave me a full clip and now I am going out looking for Tundra die hards. Thanks again.

A friend just bought a Tundra crew max. Beautiful truck without a doubt. He now enjoys pointing out all the negative news floating around out there about my beloved Titan. Things like consumer reports giving it a poor rating in expected reliability. Anybody found some good negative info on the Tundra I can throw his way. Being a new design they must be having some issues?
They are having an issue with snapped camshafts due to a metallurgic defect.

I was a chevy man until the local dealer tried ripping me off on a few different occasions. They also did the same to my father who has been buying GM's for probably 40+ years (He still continues to buy them but I don't know why). Then I went to Ford which I was pretty happy with as far as quality and reliability goes. unfortunately Ford doesn't think their trucks are under powered which is partly why I bought the Nissan.
When I went to trade in my Ford I figured I would get the best deal from the dealership where I bought my previous 3 fords. I expected since its a ford and I'm a regular customer they would do right by me. I couldn't have been more wrong. They were by far the worst and they treated me like I was a piece of $hit. I guess thats why they are no longer in business.
Oh well, I know I made the better choice buying the Nissan.
