JEFFB, I hear ya. Same problem with Ford. I have been trading every two years since 1987. A whole lot of trucks and a whole lot of money. Brought my last ford, a 2005 F-150, in looking to buy a 07. Big rebates were put in place by ford after I bought my 05. Guess what happend to my trade in value. I am sure the rebate deals brought them a bunch of business but it burried me. My local Nissan dealer offered me $2000 more than my ford dealer. A higher trade in for a truck that was better equiped and had a lower sale price had me making the switch. I also had brake problems with my last 3 fords. Ford sent a long time customer packing just to get some quick sales. Bad for them, good for me because now I have a Titan. I am hoping my nissan dealer keeps an eye to the long term.

By the way...the video is real. It was a Ford product development.marketing meeting.
Uh huh...
That video may have been produced by Ford, but it's fake.
Even the Ford nuts on the largest Ford truck site (over 420,000 members) on the net thought it was faked.
Hey Fuzzy, explain this: Every shot of the bouncing beds of the competition is photographed from the rear...except one = Ford. When it's Ford time, the camera quickly switches from a 3/4 left rear shot to a 3/4 left front shot. From this angle, one can hardly see any of the Ford bed. I have an idea why...Ford's bed bounced and flexed too..how much is the question.
Beds separate from the cab are designed to flex, so the load isn't transfered into the cab. Integral cab/bed designs are known to have this problem. In 1961, Ford introduced the Uni-Bed Styleside pickup. It sold well the first year, but the loads caused horrible body flexing, and the doors had a tendancy to open at the most in-oppertune time. Ford dropped the Uni in early 1963.
Ford itself made some bad decisions with pricing and quaility control that ended that brand loyalty.:
I have a memory like an elephant. I remember in the early 80's Ford did a cost effectiveness study to determine if it would be cheaper to fix their exploding Pintos or pay off lawsuits for a few dead customers. When I heard that, I decided to never own another Ford.
Firestone and Exxon are also on my "never purchase anything from them" list for stupid corporate decisions.

The problem with the Pinto tanks was the seam of the gas tank (it was two pieces welded together) was inches from the rear axle. In a rear end collision, the gas tank would contact the rear axle, and split in two, the force also caused the filler neck to come out of the tank...BOOM!
The Pinto gas tank campaign fix began in 1975. The repair kit (there were two, depending on the model) consisted of a longer filler neck, and a curved plastic shield that fit between the fuel tank and rear axle.
Ford didn't learn from their mistakes. The current Crown Vic (which, btw..dates to 1979!) also suffers from the same malady. The fix is the same as for the Pinto...longer filler neck, plastic shield.
The Crown Vic as of 2008, is only sold to fleets, public sales have ended. Only the kissin' cousin Merc Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car are still sold.
See my profile for the reasons I know all of this.

Who gives a rats azz about bed bounce anyhow? NOBODY! So why don't these companies focus on crap that matters. No Ford, I don't care about how big the bolts holding the bed on are, or how many of them their are. Nobodys lost a bed driving down the road! And no Toyota, just how and where your hitch is attatched to the frame of the new Tundra is useless information since it doesn't matter....not too many have had their hitches separate from their trucks...sending their hauled load off into the weeds!
Why do they give us BS information? simple, todays trucks don't differ enough to the average buyer so they try and fill the heads of the money spending morons, who don't know the difference between ABS, TPS, and GPS, with garbage to try and boost sales over the competition. They all do it.

i do and my 2.0 radflos and 2.5" deavers in the rear take it like a seasoned street saleswoman in thailand and have NO bounce and Hudson Valley Tit pretty much summed it up, who gives a shat?
Heres some of the awards the Titans won, including Strategic Visions Quality award for 2007. Consumer Reports is the only magazine that rates the Titan badly, but thier not really credible anymore in my opinion.

pretty cool, but its okay... boring action of a titan lifted too high rolling on boring terrain. now hauling A$$ thru desert terrain at over 70mph whilst traversing whoops and slamming the suspension through its travel... now that is exhilarating!!!
Hey what is 'the largest Ford truck forum' that you mention below - I wanna do some searches over there on some random things....
