Question Low Tire Pressure light

I posted this in the tires section, but I figured I'd get a quicker reply here. I have an '08 Titan with less than 400 miles on it. The low tire pressure light came on. I checked the pressure-all tires are perfect at 35-36psi. I know there is nothing wrong, but it is driving me nuts.

The owners manual says the light will flash if the sensor is bad or malfunctioning and will burn solid if its working correctly. Mine is burning solid.

How can I fix this without buying anything or having to take the truck in for service. Maybe just missed something when reading through the owner's manual on how to fix it.

Thanks

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

I put 40 psi in my stock tires and never saw the light again, when I would put the recommended pressure it would come on especially if the temp dropped.

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

Jump your pressure to 40 PSI, and see if that doesn't work.

Or, you can try resetting the ECU.

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

A cold morning will sometimes cause the light to come on. After driving it a bit the light should go off. Otherwise, I'd do what the others suggested and up the pressures a bit.

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

I had the same thing happened to me a couple days ago, went to my local gas station, check my tire pressure it was at 34psi, so I air them up to 40psi, started the car the check tire pressure light still on, drove the truck for about 2 mins, light went away. Try this I think this will solve your problem.

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

Mine came on once.
Turns out I had a big screw lodged in the tire and it was going flat.

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

The 08 manual says the truck must be going 16mph for the sensor to start 'sensing' again. I would suggest the 40psi as others have talked about.

Re: Low Tire Pressure light

For 06 and newer
If the light flashes for one minute at start up and stay on it's a system malfunction.

If it is on only and does not flash for one minute it's low PSI in one or more of the tires.

Was Up On The Mountains Not Long Ago...the Light Comes On When Temperture Is Much Cooler ( After Driving Down For 30 Minutes Back To City, Lights Finally Came Off)...nothing Serious To Worry About...
