Heater noises

My climate control system makes a loud grinding noise when switching from defrost to vent, and then it will make a irratating sound while on vent, but it comes and goes, anybody experiance this?

have the grinding noise too, I think it's just mechanical system moving. My fan sounds like crap ocassionally also, t kind of drones and has a slight vibration sound.

I have the same problem. When switching from vent to defrost there is a ticking noise inside the dash that lasts for 5-10seconds. I took it to the dealer and they said the electric motor that controls the defrost door inside the heater had a stripped gear. I bought a new motor off them for $35 but haven't had time to put it in yet.

I dont think this is anything new. I believe there is a technical service bulletin out on this. I have the same issue, but a little reluctant to take it in. It'll go away come summer.

Nissan HVACs have always been noisy but its not a cause for concern. Could be the noise of the vents closing and opening. They are all electric

Mine makes some strange noises now and then, and it's not the vents. A bit strange but I'm hesitant to leave it at the dealer for something that is sporadic.

I have the same issue on my '05...has anyone had this fixed out of warranty? I have 47K + miles so I know I will have to pay for this issue. Has anyone fixed it on their own - if so how difficult was it to do?

Sounds like this drive me crazy
