MREs?
Man, you live near Buffalo, not near death valley.

Sand, small shovel, gloves, warm boots, jump cables, and a leatherman.

yeah, watch those nuts!! always putting balancing form and function.

heh, check out my camping thread for some pics of what we do...

foul weather gear:

generally i'll have 2 snow shovels in the truck. if i'm out in the snow it's probably to do my grandparent's walks. if it's a lot of snow i'll grab my dad's JD snowblower and take that around. if it's a foot or more i'll fire up my 1969 death machine. it's single stage so when it's in gear the impeller spins as the wheels do, makes my forearms huge.

i always have straps/blankets and other stuff in the truck anyway so i don't add much for winter.

True, but after the Blizzard of 77, and then the one a few years ago where I spent 10 hours in my Honda Accord, I'm going with the "better safe than sorry" idea. plus they don't take up too much room.

Re: Titan in heavy now

The OEM Goodrich tires haven't been too bad, but as soon as I find a second set of rims for winter, I'll dress them with a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires. Our winters are very cold (down to -60 F), roads narrow and winding, littered with moose to avoid. Our snowload is less than other places, but we average 5-6' of snowfall annually. So far my 08 KC Pro4X has performed flawlessly.

Horrible winter driving conditions don't frighten me, bring it on.
