Kerosene + Truck Bed?

Well the kerosene container that I had lost it's cap on my way home and tipped over of course in the bed. My bed is just metal, no liner and it stayed within two 'ribs' in the bed and drained completely. But do I have to worry about this eating away at my paint at all? Kerosene is just gas and oil pretty much so I didn't think it would hurt it too much but I don't want any surprises!

Btw what really pisses me off is that it spilled on my portable ice shack! Oh and the fact that I just spent $25 on kerosene and have about 4 cups worth to show for it.

I would do a thorough job of washing everything out with a strong degreaser. Not worth taking a chance.

You're fine. Kerosene is actually a great road tar remover and can be used on any base/clear for such. Just wash the vehicle afterwards with warm water and a small amount of dish detergent. Be aware that you'll have to completely re-wax the truck as the dish detergent will strip the wax entirely. And NO SMOKING while you're doing it!! HAHA!

That's funny because two weeks ago a container of dish soap opened up in the grocery bag and spilled in my bed too. FUN!

better than when I spilled the gallon of oil based outdoor concrete paint in my bed, with a spray in liner. that was nasty. kerosene is no biggie. like mentioned just wash ad re-wax.

OUCH!!! So I guess what you're saying is that the bed in your Titan is now a new color?
