Ok, here's the T100 info. The T100 wasn't a bad truck, it was just a bad attempt at a full-size truck. Many die-hard Toyota fans switched from Tacos for these trucks like we did from Frontys to Titans. It evolved and look at the Tundra almost 15 years later. If Nissan kills the Titan or 'merges' it with another brand, they have given up on a helluva lot better truck than Toyotas first try. http://www.toyoland.com/trucks/t100.html

I bought a 2006 CC LE smoke in November of 2006. The 2007's really hadn't rolled to every dealership yet...and the choices were very limited. Before you know it....they start making deals on 2007's....then here comes the 2008's. In a span of approx. 9 months I could of bought an 08 rather than the 06 for roughly the same cash I think this has caused some to sit on the fence...waiting for that next new model....maybe the 2009's / a Heavy Duty / diesel version who knows....it could be right around the corner. If you think about it...there aren't as many folks right now that can buy a $ 30,000 plus truck. I know....blah, blah, blah...he would (Ghosn) be an idiot to scrap the Titan any time soon...shoot it just delivered the 2007 Heisman Trophy!!!! Great commerical by the way Mr. Ghosn.
I suppose the only realistic measuring stick is whatever comes out of Detroit. Today's fullsizes would dwarf those of the '50s. Today's half-ton has payload capacity exceeding a 3/4 ton, yet we still call them "half-ton" trucks.
Never said it was small, but in comparison to all other half-ton pickups at the time (GM, Ford, Dodge) it was small. 6000lb, really? Must have had some lead hidden in the frame rails.
Only in length when comparing CC models IIRC. I'd hardly call that "larger."
The last Tundra, although an inch off the Titans height, was about 6 inches longer and, going by Toyotas numbers of 79.7 inches, was a touch wider than the Titan also. So it was a larger truck. But nowhere near as capable.
True, half tons today are closer to 1 tons in capacity but not really strong enough to do real heavy duty work day in and day out.

If I didn't already have one, I'd grab one while I could. Mine will never be on the market. Although if this rumor becomes reality, short term the resale might tank, but since many of us plan to keep ours forever, for us it doesn't matter, and I think long term the value will go back up ... supply vs. demand.
Also, I believe that I read somewhere, that an automobile manufacturer must produce parts for repairing the vehicle for 15 years, after the particular model year. And many parts can be replaced with custom fabricated, or existing aftermarket parts.
The engine and transmission are the only major concerns, but in 2019 I might be willing to drop a 6 cylinder diesel retrofit into the guzzler anyway.
My suggestion is get a new CEO and keep the Titan.
I have owned fords dodges and chevys. All nice trucks, but I loved this truck from the test drive on.Could have gotten any one those at a lower price and only paided 24677 out the door for my cc lwb 08 se.Making a name for youself and your product that people are willing buy in to, takes time unless u spend millions upon millions in advertising.I'm sure they could find many titan owners with lots miles on there trucks used for work play ,all different walks of life to do beefed up ads, commercials and testomonials. They would not be the first if they did,but effective and it works.
I'm not too worried about it. Even though I'm selling mine, I plan to buy another Titan. So as long as I can find a red pro-4x for sale when I get ready to buy I'll be happy.
And just remember, a lot of very popular cars were taken off the market, then brought back several (or many) years later... take the camaro for instance, it's preparing for a major comeback.
I'll certainly be sad to see the Titan go IF it does. We'll just have to wait and see.
and to add to the rant... advertise dammit advertise!!
I completely agree 100%. I was watching that video yesterday and was trying to think how I could put it into this forum somehow for everyone to see. Now that's it has already been done (thanks to you), I don't have to worry about it anymore I think that video is a great way to show off the capabilities of the truck, plus it caters to the truck buyer who will actually use the truck. Thanks for posting that video
