I read that as possibly killing the Titan as we know it, not altogether. Being in talks with Chrysler about a possible joint venture with the Dodge Ram would make it different but not kill it.

I agree that Nissan has not marketed this truck like they should have. I think it would be premature to throw in the axe know though, supposidly Nissan was well into designing the next gen. Titan, and that would all go down the drain.

If it really came to no more Titans being available - I would buy a Nissan Armada - take it to the body shop and have them back- half it and remove the second set of rear seats. Add a bed from any truck available with a sturdy tail gate - paint to match and you have a do it yourself Titan pickup with a strong rear, powerful brakes and a very nice ride. All it takes is really wanting something bad enough. Nissan will get the message if they see enough Amada pickups running around the American roads.

I don't know about that, if the Titan is discontinued, the Armada probably won't be far behind. It is basically the same platform as the Titan and Armada sales a less than half of the Titans sales.

Their have already been rumers about the Armada and the Pathfinder being killed after thier current life cycle ends. I don't think its going to be a good move for Nissan to get rid of all of its gas guzzlers, as small cars are just a fad right know in my opinion.

This is the way I see it all, The titans have only been out for 4 years, and the other for no telling how long, just for example, Let the titans take place of the f-150 and the f-150 be only out for 4 years, of course sales wouldnt be high, the truck just came out a few years ago and not many ppl may have thought much about them unless they test drove them, if the titan has been out for as long as the others then they would probably be way ahead of the others in sales. they need to give the titan a few more years before they go out and start talking crap about the sales the titan has had.
Audio- Kinetik HC1800,HC800, rockford 3sixty.1, 2 power series T2 12"s, T1500.1bd, punch p162S compps in rear and front Power T162s comps, T600.2, Apline W505 w/ blackbird,
they need to advertise more and do something about some of the known common problems which they seem to want to pretend aren't there. Its an awesome truck but they are doing a horrible job trying to sell it.
I've always loved Nissan's response to problem; "Never heard of this problem, your's is the first". How can you trust a company that lies to your face. The Titan Truck is on life support. The plug will soon be pulled. My guess is 2010. Don't look for any new aftermarket parts.

The Pathy will never be yanked. Although I said from the start that the Titans V8 in the Pathy was a retarded move. As for the Armada, it's not doing all that bad considering that all large SUVs are hurting. Pickups, on the other hand, are still selling because of fleet sales and people buying work trucks. If Nissan would wake up and offer a regular cab longbed with no frills, manual tranny and vinyl flooring as all the others do, they might do a little better. Their sparse offerings limit its' appeal IMHO.
Because someone bought a Ford over a Nissan could simply mean Ford had the set up they needed. They should offer more stand alone options and stop all this moronic packaging where you can only get this with this or.....in order to get this option, you have to get this this and this.

Everyone needs to look at this from a business perspective. Why in the world would Nissan continue to build a vehicle from which it makes little or no profit? I love my Titan as much as the next guy and was giddy with anxiety to see its' newest incarnation in '09 but at the same time the buying public has pretty much taken a sh*t on the Titan. 60,000+ units so far in '07?!? That's horrible! The full size truck market is and always will be dominated by the Big 3 and that's a plain and simple fact that any of us can clearly see. Getting a devout Detroit truck buyer to buy "foreign" is a daunting and apparently fruitless task. Even the Tundra has approximately half of Dodge's third-place sales. I hate to think of the Titan's demise just as the rest of you, but we can't honestly say that we didn't see it coming. As far as the Titan diesel goes, forget about it. You'll never convince a hard-core diesel fan to go "foreign". Look at the trouble GM initially had with the Duramax being connected with Isuzu! Even Toyota recognizes that. Yes folks, the day is coming I think and myself personally am going to buy as many aftermarket parts as I think I want because that too may eventually dry up. The aftermarket industry barely supports the Titan as it is anyway compared to domestics. I know my post will probably be flamed and I'll be labeled as a pessimist. I'll label myself as a sad realist.
Another thing that I have noticed(around my area), is that people still think of the Nissan as a smaller (uncapable) truck. The guys at restaurant parking lots and what not are like "wow, that's a nissan, that thing is huge!"
The advertisement is lacking, indeed....c'mon, get the word out! I hardly ever see a commercial, and can't get away from the Tundra commercials.

It wasn't Nissan.
It was the French.

I don't think we will ever see a next generation of Titans. They can't even fix the ones we have now. Everything they do seems to be a bandaide instead of a fix. Granted they did a good job on the brakes after awhile, but there is still the rearend problems. That's why no more commericals about towing 9000+lbs like when the Titan first came out. They know the rearends cannot handle it. And so do alot of other people. Toyota took dead aim at the Titan with their ads showing bigger rearends and brakes and towing cap. You snooze you lose, and that's just what Nissan did with the Titan. On the back burner now soon to be put in the trash. JMHO.
