Letter Template To Nissan RE: Carl Ghosn

All - below you'll find the letter that I sent out to Nissan Consumer Affairs. I suggest you copy and paste it, change the bold areas to fit your own and send it out. Large companies use different formulas to determine what one letter from a consumer represents in the market. Nissan must not cancel our Titan!

The address to send it out is in the letter header.

Dear Nissan Consumer Affairs,

I am writing this letter in regards to an article posted on www.newsweek.com for the December 24th, 2007 issue. This writer of this article mentions Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan-Renault, has hinted of “killing off” the Nissan Titan.

I bought a 2008 Titan in October of 2008 and have enjoyed every minute of it. Originally I was looking at a new Ford F150. A 15 minute test drive in the Titan changed my mind instantly. I receive compliments nearly every day on my truck’s styling, power and ride.

In my opinion Nissan has taken a step in a new direction and in 4 years created the best half ton truck on the market. Yes there have been some issues but that is to be expected of a new product. Instead I suggest additional marketing and continued refinement of the drive train.

I love my Nissan Titan – please do not kill it off!

Respectfully,

Your Name

Re: Letter Template To Nissan RE: Carl Ghosn

All Nissan needs to do is invest in Marketing!!! They are nowhere close to that of the BIG 3 in marketing, i bet if they offset the costs of the marketing they aren't doing with the lack of sales there not as far behind profit wise as they might think.....

P.S. Now I could be completely wrong, but that's my opinion!!!

Re: Letter Template To Nissan RE: Carl Ghosn

I added quite a bit to the letter. Here is mine I'll be sending out:

Franklin TN 37068-5003

Dear Nissan Consumer Affairs,

I am writing this letter in regards to a December 24th, 2007 Newsweek article, "A Rock Star's Rebirth" (http://www.newsweek.com/id/78147/page/1). The author, Keith Naughton, indicates Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan, has hinted of “killing off” the Nissan Titan. Mr. Ghosn was quoted as saying, "The name of the game is going to be more fuel-efficient cars ... And when you make your product plans for the future, you can't say, 'I've always had a pickup truck, so I'll just keep improving it.' If you can't make it profitably, you have to get out." I couldn't disagree more with this statement.

I bought a 2006 Titan in September of 2006, and I have been extremely happy with my purchase. [See attached photo of my personalized Titan.] I've only owned Nissan pickups, and I can't imagine anything otherwise. My prior vehicle was a 2001 Nissan Frontier that performed flawlessly throughout the 5 years I owned it.

Nissan set the bar in 2003 with the introduction of the 2004 Titan truck, and it's time for Nissan to set the bar even higher. Figure out what is causing the problems with the differentials, and fix them. Nissan needs to increase their marketing and advertising budget if the Titan is to succeed. A few television ads once in a blue moon are not going to cut it. In addition, Nissan must offer a bare bones work truck for fleet sales.

We love our Nissan Titans – please do not kill the Titan! Please do not make a product with decreased quality in order to make higher profit. The Titan will only have increased sales if there is a complete overhaul in marketing and public perception of the Titan. The Titan also needs greater variation in model choices, including a single cab, bare bones work truck with a V6 or diesel.

Feel free to contact me at [email@domain.com] or (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

Respectfully,

Sorry but letters from current owners won't sway their opinion one bit.

They are looking at profitability... not owner satisfaction.

Well we can gripe on an internet forum or you can copy, paste, print and send out a letter. Both may get you no where but one could maybe get you farther than the other.

I was about to say, what do they care they already have your money. But anything is worth a shot, but don't expect anything.

They care about repeat customers as well as new ones. They don't want to lose current owners to the big three when replacement time comes.
