Side Moldings....

So I debadged the letters on the sides and tail gate today.

I want to do the side moldings but I just want to make sure it's painted underneith..

Pretty positive it is... but I'd hate to make the mistake and find out they are not.

(I like the smooth look )

Boy, I'd sure hate to take those off and find out it's unpainted or marred in some way. Good luck! Post pics when you're done, I'm curious to see it!

Re: Side Moldings....

there was a post on here where i guy did it he didnt mention having to paint anything im sure they paint the truck then apply the molding they would have to worry to much about runs in the paint booths if they painted them on the truck and i know paint comes before package styling on the assem. line

Re: Side Moldings....

I did some body work to my 06 and there was paint underneath. I thought about taking them off after I saw it without one piece but just couldn't bite the bullet. I think it would look good with the smooth look. I just lowered mine and I might end up takin mine off too. Good Luck.

Re: Side Moldings....

I just remembered you're truck is brand new. You've only had it for a week and already modding it. You got the fever pretty quick. I think you will fit in fine around here on TT. Now we need to get these other modded Titans on the coast to get together. I saw a couple of nice lookin Titans yesterday goin down HWY 90.

Re: Side Moldings....

STOP, dont do it. I replaced the speakers in my truck and noticed that there are holes where a tab comes through on those moldings. Mine is an 08 SE king cab. Might not be the same on everyone, but there are holes behind the moldings on mine.

JG

Any pictures of yours lowered??

I really really wanted a 4x4 and wanted to lift...etc...

but now that I am into a 2wd Titan.. I might lower it and go that route... (that's if I can talk the wife into it)

I just got the truck back from getting the front windows tinted.... got the CAI enroute....

Debadged it already and going to do the moldings when it isn't rainy/chilly out.

Re: Side Moldings....

I think there are "alignment holes" under the side moldings where clips snap in to keep the moldings straight.

See circled text on attached picture, its from an 07 manual but i dont think they changed the way they are attached on the 08's
