This thread brought back fond memories. I bought my Titan 20 years after graduating high school! Back then, my mom let me use her '85 Nissan KC 4x4. First day with my license, I took it down some trails that we used to hit on our BMX bikes (the trails seemed wider on our bikes), trail got too narrow and the truck slid off the sidehill and luckily a tree was there to stop us. Mom was not happy. Eventually, I talked her into letting me mod it a bit --- added a Weber carb, Rancho lift, 33" BFG's, rollbar (those were considered cool back then), KS lights, etc. I ended up rolling the thing. End of story.
You say this thread brings back fond memories. Since when has flipping a vehicle became a fond memory?
I remember how important the specs were on a truck back in High School.
When a buddy of mine got a 1999 Ford Ranger, he actually lied to us about the specs of the engine.
He didn't get a 4.0L V6.....instead he got a 3.0L V6. He tried to say the 3.0 was actually 30 valves and that the truck was actually a 4.0L V6 with 30valves. It took several months before he'd let anybody see what was under the hood. When they saw 3.0, that's when the lies started flying out of his mouth.
It was such a bunch of bull****. And I was driving a 1988 Ford Ranger that year and proud as **** of that truck. The following year I moved away to another state to get myself in a better situation because of said friends...at which point I was given the 98 F150 by my Father. They gave me **** because it was a V6. I always wondered what their malfunction was. Hell, when someone gives you a truck, you appreciate it.

I had an '84 Toyota pickup truck 4x4 with a plow (made me a ton of money in high school)...I loved that thing, even though with that little 4 banger I had a tough time going 70 mph down hill on the highway in 5th gear...it may have been the slowest vehicle ever...
Are you saying you'd Rather pay for a car then get a Titan from your parents?
I'm saying that my parents wanted me to learn/take responsibility instead of just giving me something of that magnitude w/o paying for it myself or having the means to pay for it myself. They also wanted me to earn my way and fall flat on my face, so that I would learn at an early age that there are very few free lunches in life and to not expect everything given to me in life.
psssh! Everyone calls me spoiled cuz my dad gave me our Titan but I call some serious luck. I'm gonna be the last sibling out the the house since I'm the youngest.... I love my truck and I know I would never hae a titan if I had to pay for it on my own. Now I jus suck up to my dad and do everything he wants cuz up here on this mountain, havin the best ride is about the only thing ya got. I jus wanna enjoy and get through high school cuz my horse is takin up all the values of my hard earned money : (
