Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

Well since I have had my titan when ever I take long trips, over 100mi, the light flashes for a bit then goes solid. It goes off after 15 or so minutes. This is my second set of tires so I know it's not the tires. I keep 40lbs in them. I check the tires before long trips. The trip was 650mi round trip and the light came on 4 times.

Went to the dealer today and they said there isn't much they can do under warranty unless the light is on when I bring the truck in. They said most likely it only stores the code for 1 day if it does and then there is a better than good chance that there will be no code.

I asked him if a sensor could be bad/going bad, he said the light would be on all the time.

Anyone else???

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

mine goes on all the time and sometimes goes away. i choose to ignore it because i check my tires all the time and a little inflation when low helps. i know it doesnt help ur problem but if there is no danger, then dont worry.

Same thing happened to me sometime ago and the tech fixed it by inflating the tires to over 60psi and then bringing it down to 40psi...

Was told that had to be done before the sensor would recognize any pressure after the tire had been removed...

Try that and see....Let us know....

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

Mine did that while hauling a motorcyle from Seattle to Fallon, I'm pretty sure mine was related to temperature and altitude changes though, once I got down there and drove for a while it didn't do it anymore. Same for the trip back up. Nothing since.

For the 06 and newer no warning sound, light only low pressure, light flash for one minute at start up and stay on mean TPMS system is not working right.
Not quite...doesn't come on at start up and doesn't stay on. Thats the problem...looks like one of the annoying things i'll have to live with.

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

One or more of your Tire Pressure Sensors are bad. You will get the same results if you take one out and replace it with a regular valve stem.

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

From what you described, it sure sounds like one is malfunctioning.... It may just not have gone totally bad but it seems it's losing the signal with the computer intermittently. Just keep an eye on your tire pressure and wait for the TPMS to die altogether, I guess.

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

My light comes on only on trips over about a 120 miles, but the thing is i have swapped my wheels out for the se/le wheels but they don't have the sensors even in the wheels currently. My sensors are in my garage in my 17" wheels. I am wondering if i should even have the sensors put in these wheels as it obviously is not working that well.

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

My cousin had the same problem on his 06. He took it to the dealership and they adjusted the air pressure in his spair tire. Yep that what i said the spair tire. Worked for him maybe its worth a try.

Re: Anyone have problems with their TPMS?

Check the air pressure in your spare. Got mine above 35 psi and solved the problem.
