Extended Warranty Questions?? Advice Please!!

I just purchased my 05 Titan used a week or so ago and am having the freezing door cable problem and it is a real pain in the a$$. I called the Nissan dealership to see if i could get them to cover it under warranty sinceit has 44K on it and they told me no, but they also told me that there is a nissan extended warranty on it until 100,000 miles but it is not in my name. He gave me the warranty # and the name on it as well as the selling dealership.
My question is this: What is going to be involved in getting this signed over to me? Is there anything at all I can do?

Well I am pretty sure it is a Nissan Warranty....are they transferable the guy in the service department made it sound like they are? I have no idea though plus I have no contact information for him so I don't know what to do. Any Ideas?
