Re: Totaled

Damn - glad to hear you're okay! And it looks like that truck did exactly as it was supposed to. If it was head on at 45mph or so, that puts it at a complete stop at around 90mph. Hell even if that was a slam into the wall at 45 those crumple zones are pretty impressive.

Not sure if you were directing that at me or a4bry4, so I will answer. (hijacking thread) Farmers gave me more than I paid for my truck a year ago. Not so shocking, I bought it for trade-in value and they gave me retail value. Plus they gave me the sales tax, 10 bucks to relicense, and some money for the aftermarket stuff. They also gave me a medical insurance claim number so my doctor visits and prescriptions were paid for immediately. I haven't asked them for lost wages, but I think they will do that as well. They are a little disorganized, my wife hates them, but in the end, Farmer's took care of me.

I released my interest in the truck over to the insurance company.
What were you looking for?

Re: Totaled

Sorry for your loss, at least you are with us to tell about it. Just like a Titan owner to try and buy parts off of someone's tradegy, so did you say the insurance company have the truck? just kidding. Good luck finding the replacement.

I'm sold on the Titan's occupant protection. I picked up a Pro-4X over the weekend. See my post New Pro-4X owner

Re: Totaled

I started thinking about my totaled '04 after receiving the license renewal notice from DMV. I went in to DMV to confirm that I was no longer the owner since it was totaled back in January and also to confirm that I didn't have to pay the license renewal fee for a truck that I no longer owned. The DMV employee scared me because she initially said, yes, you do owe the renewal fee. Then, she recanted and said, oh no, the truck has a new owner and the new owner is now responsible for paying the renewal fees.

I'd hate to think that my old Titan has a new owner and is rolling around after such a hard hit to the front end. I hope that no one from TT has recently bought a freshly painted King Off-Road '04 with a VIN ending in 5550777.

the new owner most likely means insurance company

Re: Totaled

i was recently in an accident with my titan and t-boned the other driver. they were making a left turn as i was goin straight and tried to jet across.(bad timing) i was going about 45 mph and totaled their car. everyone is ok but my main concern is that my airbags never deployed. is there something i should do?
