The "traction control" portion that kills power if the rear wheels spin isn't turned off with the VDC OFF button....just the VDC is. I don't have VDC but eveyone else with it here has said this repeatedly so...that's where that came from.

No, those chrome pieces do not come from the factory, but rather it is a dealer add on piece that is installed at WWL after the vehicle is built and tested by Nissan and bought off by WWL prior to transport to dealers. To say that those chrome pieces comes from Nissan is completely wrong, although the WWL building in Canton is less than 100 ft. from the main plant on the plant campus.

As for VDC, I sometimes have to remember to press the VDC button when I pull a boat out of the water or drive through mud, but it really isn't that big of an issue. In the off mode, I can smoke the tires like nothing if I'm not careful. I've had enough pucker up moments where VDC saved my life that I don't plan on buying another new vehicle without it. A used vehicle will be a different story, but I believe that it works great when it's needed.
