New Owner

So there I was at my dealership getting some periodic maintenance done on my 05 X. Was looking at the Titan and had done some research on pricing. Just on a whim I gave the sales guy a price, to my shagrin, he matched....I bought. I've added Fogs and K&N filter looking at adding a Magnaflow short term and long term AEM CAI, 2* timing advance, true-trac, and the computer reprogram thing. Any suggestions on the Magnaflow? I've heard some have lost MPG with a new muffler.

Chris.

Re: New Owner

I LOVE my Magnaflow - I actually noticed a gain in mpg at highway speeds.

Re: New Owner

Anmut,

What exactly is the "air box" mod? I did a search and came up negative.

Re: New Owner

airbox mod

This isn't the thread with the how-to but it show's the basic in pictures. It's very simple. Open up your stock airbox and take out the filter. You'll see a 'snorkel' tube coming into the box. Use a dremmel or a knife heated by propane torch to cut the tube back a bit and improve airflow.

Notice when you open up your airbox for the first time that the dirt spot on the filter is concentrated to one corner. This mod will improve the over-all airflow going into the box.
