whats up with this?

i have an 08 4 door se titan with k@n replacement filter and magna flow exhaust my friend has a 06 extra cab with cai and spintech exhaust. when we race once i hit second gear in my 4 door his truck has no chance at all does anyone know what nissan did different to the 08?

Do you have the tow package? My buddy has a truck just like mine except in 2wd with no tow package, and I can beat him because of the gears. Also in 07 they went to vvt with a few extra hp.

Variable Valve Timing and more HP. Does he take you off the line though? Don't race an 04!

I here ya HVT.....
I test drove an 08 and thought something was wrong with it....
This old truck would embarass a new one with the few bolt ons i have..
I really liked the new gauges and dual climate zones and the bigger gas tank...

I like the new guages also and I haven't let it get low enough to have to refill it from empty....I'm afraid to! You'd embarass one w/o mods! I do hope it loosens up over time. Once moving though it has the power, it just seems to be mapped to hold it back too long or something. I haven't quite put my finger on it yet.

he takes me off the line by a bumper by the end of first gear though i have him by about a bumper, then we hit second gear and by the end of second im almost 2 trucks ahead, and about him taking me off the line he is an xtra cab i would expect it to take me by a lot more than he does. and i guarentee you wont take me to 100 redneck maybe not even at all

My 07 has just about 5k miles, and it feels like it's starting to open up. I figure another few thousand miles and a little Uprev enhancement will do the trick.

If any of you 04 fellas are feeling froggy just go ahead and leap up to up 'nort Wisconsin/UP and I'll let you run against my 08. I'm dying to just come up with a baseline on this truck. I've only found one person that has raced me at a light and it was an early 00's Chevy 1500. Wasn't even a fair fight for him.

haha oceanside ca dood im down anytime but i have to say from when i first got it it feel 10 time better tbs and 2* timing advance coming next week

I think in this threads original post he's wondering why his 08 w/ small amount of mods beats his buddy's 04 with some fairly expensive mods.
