Utilitrack Rails?

Can I purchase the rails separately, if I didn't get the utility bed package? I found a truck I like, but doesn't have the utility bed. I wanted to know if I could buy the rails, and install them EASILY?

Thanks.

Joe B.

Re: Utilitrack Rails?

I am no expert, but I believe you can get the rails and install them, but I remember reading somewhere that if you get the utilitrack package from the factory, the bed is reinforced, so I think you have to do some extra work, someone else can probably answer it better, but that is a start.

Re: Utilitrack Rails?

I haven't done the retrofit, but I've researched it alot. It's not a 'beginner' type of job. Definitely one that you've gotta take your time on and you'll need to make a 'backing' plate to reinforce the center support portion of the side rails. They are expensive pieces too when you do come across them for sale.

Re: Utilitrack Rails?

Depends on if you want just the lower rails or the side rails. I really just wanted the ones in the floor and added them, was not that difficult. The bed reinforcement is nothing to be scared of, the sheet metal is doubled up to make a hat section, lots of ways to add strength in the area. (I am talking floor rails here, no idea about sides). I can post pics and more details if you want.

Re: Utilitrack Rails?

I was just asking as I found a truck I liked, but it didn't have the utility rails. My wife asked how hard they were to install aftermarket....Since I didn't know, I wanted to come to the experts. Thanks for all the replies. Joe.
