This is my first post here, and I hope I didn't ask an age old question. I tried searching but didn't get the info I wanted.
I just picked up an 08 LE last week. 700 miles on it now, but that's mostly from picking the truck up. Anyway, I plan on getting the oil changed at around 1000 miles.
I'm trying to decide between Amsoil, Mobile 1, and Red Line. It's looking like Amsoil is the correct choice for synthetic, but I just wanted to get your opinion on it before I go ahead. It's been a while since I looked at what is out there.
Also, which filter?
I plan on keeping this baby anywhere from 7 to 10 years. I'd like to give the engine a fighting chance

I've got 62,000 on my 2004 Titan SE. I've been running Amsoil 5W-30 ASL since about 8000 miles. I've run Mobil 1 5W-30 before that and when I couldn't get Amsoil. I have had no problems.
I do not use the Amsoil oil filter. It was even smaller than the Nissan oil filter when I initially bought the Amsoil. It may have changed since I last looked at the Amsoil filter.
I use Amsoil Synthetic gear lube in the differentials.
I recently changed the transfer case fluid. This was the first time at 61,000 miles. It was extremely dirty...lots of metal flakes...I replaced it with Castrol Import Multivehicle ATF. I may have waited too long to change it.
