Re: Anyone Towing 8000 plus with 35s or Bigger

You could take the time and add info about your truck, such as the all important fact of does it have the factory Tow Package.
I know there have been guys who have towed like that, but I sure wouldn't, 8000 lbs is a lot of trailer...

BTW - Glad you found T/Talk, but you waited a whole 13 minutes before bumping up your own thread...Good advice is like fine food, it may take a little bit of time, but it's worth it...

I have the Crew Cab with big tow package. Its a 2008.5 so its got a few more horses and torque. Its bone stock and was wondering who tows big trailers and has a lift. Im planing on the 2* and cai also exhaust.

Regear for the tire size and get the appropriate load rated tires.

35's typically work best with 4.56 gearing. If you have 4wd, you need to do both axles.

If you want the truck to sit level after the lift, you will need helper air bags so the rear doesn't sag too much.

If you tow that kind of weight much without regearing, you're going to destroy your trans.
