Hey everyone, I'm a new Titan owner and have the first rock chip blues. I took my truck up snowmobiling for the first time. They gravel our Mt. roads in Oregon like there is no tomorrow! When I got home I noticed rock chips or scuffs peppered on both sides of my truck right after the crew cab doors before the rear tires. The body of the truck flares out just a little and it's a magnet for those rocks.
I think I might be able to buff a lot of them out, it looks like it might just be the clear coat, but does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with this in the future? I have running boards ordered, that might help but I'm open to ideas from other people who have ran into this issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am sure companies out there make some type of clear covering you could adhere to your rocker panels. They come in sheets that you can cut to fit on whatever place that it is needed. Something along these lines would be my best suggestion.
I personally have never used this product before, so I am unsure of its actual defense against rock chips, etc. Maybe someone on here has used something similar and can give real world experience.
Best of luck to you man.

Well, knowing what I do now, I definitely would have gotten the 3M clear stuff put on there when the truck was new. Won't do me much good now having clear overtop the chips.
I started doing this, but I'm not good enough with vinyl and had a ton of wrinkles in this first piece so I decided not to go any farther. The lower part of the truck is too curvy. Then when I peeled it off, it took a bunch of paint with it.....ugghhhh!!!
Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I'm going to do some research on the 3M clear covering or the Rhino liner w/ paint match. If anyone else has pictures I'd love to see them!
Also You Could Probably Put Some Sort Of Little Mud Flaps On The Front So It Catches The Rocks Before It Gets High Enough To Sling To The Back. Looks Not So Good, But Really Functional. Just A Thought
