Hey guys Felix here its that time again when I want to buy a new truck I currently have my 06 crew cab 2wd which Im looking to trade in for a 08 Titan Crew Cab 4x4, but I have been searching for over 2 week now and Cant seem to find a 4x4 anywere. I live in SoCal Sherman Oaks/San Fernando Valley area and only one dealership out of the 8+ that I checked with have a 4x4 but its not the right color. So I guess my two problems are whats better a 4x4 or Pro4X and what is the difference anyway? Also does anyone here know what dealership in Los Angeles may have these trucks?
Nissanusa.com shows the dealers stock, but the list isn't totally up to date. You will have to call to verify it's there before you show up. I was told they get about 3 shipments in each week, so I would call around myself & check. Don't rely on your local dealer because a lot of them only want to sell what's on the lot.
I prefer the standard 4x4 because it has limited slip in both diffs. The locker is good offroad, but say for example you need to pull out into traffic on a road with loose sand, you don't want to have to worry about pushing a button to turn the locker on & turning it off once you get going. Not using it would get you a lot of wheel spin. With limited slip, you don't even have to think about it, plus it works decent offroad.
I had the same problem finding a blue SE 4x4, so I settled on grey.

There is no limited slip on the Titan from the factory.

I can identify with your troubles. There just weren't many Titans in my region in the color and equipment I wanted. I was lucky to have a brother in law that works as a service manager to help me find one.

All 4X4 Titans have the ABLS you're talking about front and rear. The E-locker can only be used while in 4LO so you wouldn't be pulling out into any traffic with it. I will add that this is my 2nd Titan with the locker and I've never had to use it.

Thanks You guys in advance
Felix.
Items mentioned, suspension, red seat stitching, 2 tone seats, white guages, body colored grill and bumpers, lower gear ratio, auto headlamps and E-locker, set the PRO-4X apart from a regular 4X4 SE.
I fell in love with the interior myself when looking at an SE 4X4. Keep looking. You'll find what you're looking for.

I used my dealer locator and found 24 SE 4x4 crew cab Titans with the short bed in the Southwest Region. There are also 21 long bed 4x4 SE's out there. Sounds to me like you're not looking hard enough.

Main difference between Pro 4X and 4X4 is suspension, tires, gearing, and interrior like gages & stitching and PRO 4X has e-locking differential too.
As far as dealerships in LA, I can't help you there maybe nissanusa.com will be able to show what dealers are there.
Do you belong to a credit union they can search for you i used a great program called Groovecar.com you put in your zip code and name of your credit union and off you go, you can research vehicles and they tell you what dealers you can go to good luck, I just bought a Titan XE thru them.
I had a helluva time locating an 08 PRO-4X CC LWB in white with the options I wanted. Thanks to MuskyHunter, I finally found one about 200 miles away.
