Re: powder coating cost
It will probably be around 60-80 a wheel.

Re: powder coating cost
It depends on the area, shops around here charge $35 a wheel, but I was talking to someone at MT who said they're paying almost $400 to get theirs done.

Re: powder coating cost
it depends if they will strip the surface to bare metal or not too. that's where it costs.

Re: powder coating cost
Sand blasting is part of the big cost along with a clear coat. Remember that you want to clear coat after powder coating to prevent fading

Re: powder coating cost
Does anyone have any pics of their wheels powder coated? Possibly the 18'' alloy's as mentioned by the thread starter. I would like to have mine done. Been looking through search results under "powder coat" and i cant find any.
I have read mixed reviews on the Duplicolor wheel spray. But considered it.

Re: powder coating cost
I got quoted 95.00 each for powder coating. I think i will try the rattle can first.
Since i dont need them there isnt a big hurry.
Another question i had for powder coating was the Nissan emblem, how did you guys approach that? It would melt in the baking process right?

Gonna have to rattle can that part. Pops right out, and the emblem pops apart from the round insert.
Here is a crappy photo that sorta shows...

I don't think you are going to get the old coating off (adequately) with media blasting. The shop I used was not able to blast the PC off my step rails before they re-coated them. Everything involved had to be acid dipped. I ended up paying $70/ I think. Media blasting is great for paint and light rust.

yeah i was thinking about that because the coating on the stock rims is pretty tough. does anyone know if they are PC'd or just painted?
