Good Deal???

I just noticed this truck on ebay and it happens to be close to my house. He said that it had a leaking transmission line repaired under warranty when he first bought it, but no other problems. Said we could probably do $18,000 even, but I wanted to check with the Titan experts on here first. Also without the lower gear ratio, would there be too much pressure on the axles to do much 4x4ing?

Well, according to the listing, it claims to have the tow package, which would include the lower gear ratio, however, the mirrors appear to be the standard, non-towing mirrors.

The rest of the truck looks cool.........

P.S., I'm no expert, but others on this forum are!!!

That's pretty expensive for an 04 with 51k miles. I'd look it up on KBB.com and wouldn't pay any more than trade in value.

Looks to me that this truck is not equipped with the factory "Big Tow" as there is no trans. temp gauge between the water temp and oil pressure gauges as well as the standard mirrors. It appears the owner has merely installed the receiver that looks to be nissan's. That being said, I would presume it has the standard gear ratio.

Granted it is a nice looking truck, but I think $18k is a little high in my book.

He claims it has the tow package but he has no transmission temperature guage so, I'd be careful about anything else he may tell you. But $18k isn't bad for that truck IMHO.

The NADA trade in value of this truck is 16,350. He has added some nice stuff to this truck so I would maybe compromise somewhere between what he wants and what the trade in value is. Good luck. That is a nice looking truck.

There are some great deals going on now. I saw that someone today got a new 08.5 LE with big tow for $24k and some change. You should be able to get a new SE for around the same price of the used one without all the problems of the 04 models. Then you can mod it how you want. You will probably also be able to finance it for longer at a better rate.

I'd have to see that myself to believe it. After rebates and trade-in maybe but....$24k for an LE...even a KC 4X2 with nothing extra is just under $34k. $10k off is pipe dream around here for sure.

Maybe not a pipe dream, I was recently quoted $9,800.00 off the sticker, with no trade, on a crewcab....

That included the $5,000.00 off of course though.

That was his first offer.
