Recall - AC Control
Yesterday I got a recall for the AC Control. Anyone else get one?
Apparently the AC Control will freeze and not work properly. Replacement is free if you don't count the hour it takes and the other stuff their going to mess up. Had them perform a TSB on my Z's axles and the NAV door was broken when they were done. |

I'm holding off on having it done (got my notice)... past recall experience with nissan (hitch debacle on the xterra) has taught me that it will be months before the dealers admit to knowing about it and even more time before the parts needed are available. Then they need some practice to get it close to right. Don't run the AC much these days as it is.

Early 2008 Titans - XE, SE & Pro4X with manual A/C switch controls..
Not LE with or without Navi.. I ordered mine.. I think all orders have to be faxed by dealer..

I got a deal in the mail that I can just bring in to the dealer as proof. Directly from Nissan. I'm going to wait until I go on vacation though so I don't lose a minute of driving time. I mean it's 15f here right now - what the hell is "air conditioning?"

So here is what recall says (NTB 08-005):
2008 NISSAN TITAN; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN A/C CONTROL UNIT Nissan has discovered that on some 2008 Titan vehicles the A/C Control Unit Assembly may not be operating as designed. Under certain driving conditions, the A/C compressor can cause the coils in the evaporator to ice over. If this were to occur, airflow is restricted and the air conditioning cooling performance may be reduced. Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the A/C control unit assembly with a new part free of charge for parts or labor. My vin is an A07 but ends in 333960. Looks like I should be ok. Which is good because I don't want them ripping apart my brand new truck!
