Question Red Line Oil D4 ATF

I saw that Red Line D4 ATF is suitable for our trannies. They say its Nissan Matic J compatible. I know that Royal Purple and Amsoil also have ATF we can use. I've read here that a few ppl have been using Amsoil w/out problems. Just wanting to know if any one is using the Red Line Stuff. I'll by changing the diff', tranny, and transfer oil in the next week or two. Just want an opinion

[Here's the Product Data

Re: Red Line Oil D4 ATF

I can tell you that Redline makes a quality product. As far as being Nissan Matic J compatible, that doesn't mean that it is exactly the same.

I'm a big fan of the Redline oils...Where did you read that it's compatable with the J-Matic?

Re: Red Line Oil D4 ATF

So by using that stuff does it not void the warranty then?

Synthetic D4 ATF is suitable for use where Dexron III, Dexron III H, Dexron II, Toyota T-IV, Hyundai, Voith, ZF, Nissan Matic-J, Honda Z-1, Mercon, or Mercon V
fluids are recommended. The D4 ATF is designed with superior low-temperature properties compared to a DexronIII fluid, and the improved shear-stability requirements
which is part of the new Mercon V specifications. The D4 ATF also provides significantly improved gear protection and will provide a GL-4 level of gear protection,
making it a superior product for transmissions and transaxles. The balanced frictional characteristics provides smooth and consistent shifts for extended drain intervals.
The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches which leads to transmission failure.

Re: Red Line Oil D4 ATF

Nissan service dealers will not tell you it's ok to use this, nor recommend it for warranty reasons. If your truck is out of warranty then give it a tug!!!!!

Re: Red Line Oil D4 ATF

My dealer said I could use any oil as long as its Nissan J Matic compatible. The flush would be $120.00 with my own oil. This sat it goes in to fix my heater. I rather have them do the tranny flush for warranty issues. I'll do the other oils myself.
