Talking So.. I got this Bad A Titan, Where Do I Go From Here?

Whats going on, my first post here. I'm a former mustang owner (v6 ) Yeah it was a turd. BUT now I'm driving a new KC 08 Titan (white by the way, my favorite).

So I have to admit something, first off, I thought the Titans had 320 RWHP, turns out that its 320 at the crank. So how much is the RWHP? So that was a disappointment, luckily I can fix that with mods

So that lead me to sitting outside and staring at how gorgeous my truck is, and now I have a few questions that I'm sure every new guy here wants to know....

Little about me.. In college, making about $10 a hour, and I'm a mechanic "helper" so I can do or get some one to do mods for me (and get a good discount on certain things...).

So...

1) Looks or performance? I know all of yall are screaming BOTH dumb ***, but there are some complications. For instances, do I get the "blinging" 20s or the more performance friendly 18s? Do i spend all my money on visuals or performance mods???

2)So... is it worth modding my titan? I throw on a intake, and get duals, whats that 15RWHP? Now i can beat that new challenger thats coming out! NOT!

Does that make any sense? Yeah ok I sound cool with my new flowmasters but they didn't really benefit me in any other way... (well my pockets $400 lighter). So lets say my goal is a high 13 second truck so I can beat those annoying ricers and the stock mustang/camaros. How much am I looking at spending... $4-5000? And remember, this is probably the biggest factor for almost EVERYONE on this site... I don't want to void that pricey warranty...

So is there an affordable way (no FI) that I can be running 13/ low 14s without voiding my warranty? Budget around $1500-2000.

And if not i'll be happy keeping my truck stock and enjoying the hell out of it

Your turn...

Congrats on the new truck! IMHO, performance always comes first over looks. So in that order you can do this:

- CAI ($150 - 500)
- Muffler Swap or complete cat back ($60 - 1000+)
- 2* Timing Advance (Free - $100)
- TruTrac LSD (no support for the 2008 model yet - hopefully soon) ($500 - 600 installed)
- Traction Bars ($400 - 500)
- UpRev ECU remapping software (no support for the 2008 model yet - hopefully soon) Should be $700

This pretty much concludes the list of stuff you can do and keep the warranty. After that you can get into headers, cams & super chargers.

Enjoy your truck & don't forget to use the search function on this forum!

Welcome to TT!

You picked a great truck. Start modding it however you please.

But like Amnut stated... performance first is the way to go.

Houston, TX. But yeah, I've been searching for about a week now and can't find any GOOD performance mods (something I'll actually tell a difference) so I may go all looks.

Oh and by the way, I have the newest truck here Might as well say it while I can

well...putting money into looks instead of performance will decrease your risk of pricey tickets!

I don't race anyone around here so my money goes to appearance and off road performance.

Re: So.. I got this Bad A Titan, Where Do I Go From Here?

Is your truck 2WD or 4WD? You should have got a black Titan no matter what your favorite color is. LOL If its 4WD I'd go for lift kit, bigger tires, and more torque to get you out of those mud bogs your going to be sloshing through. If its 2WD I would spend my money on a big screen tv. getting dusted by 300hp Subarus' ain't pretty. Just kiddin guys, I dont know what I'd do, I guess I'd follow my instincts and I suspect you already have a gut feeling where you want to go anyway.
