As I'm becoming more aware of the waste that running E10 can be, performance and mpg wise, I have been hunting for stations that do not have this particular blend.
Today I finally found one. Interesting enough it's the same price for a gallon as compared to the discount station down the road pumping 87/89 E10. Now my only indicator was that I did not see the sticker on the pump disclosing this devil fuel mix. Tonight as I was reading up on it more I found that some states don't have laws requiring notification of the blend. After more searching I found this handy little pdf.
File not working. What state are you in? Eventually, 10% Ethanol will be manditory everywhere. You can't get anything else in NY.

No doubt! And because it's used as the primary oxygen creator in gasoline as a replacement to the old way of doing it there's no way to get rid of it! Nothing we can add to take out the blend once it's made. GRRR
Btw if you want some more good reading on fuel, winter mix compared to summer mix, check this link out:
It's a few years old (notice the reference to $1.80 a gallon) but explained something to me that I didn't know. Rising gas prices in the summer has nothing to do with demand created by anything else but the $%#$ refineries themselves. They're jacking us out of money in the summer because of simple business efficiency... nothing to do with oil imports, terrorism or any of the other B.S. the market tells Joe Sixpack.

Being from the oil industry I can tell you that the claim that prices in the summer have nothing to do with demand is complete bull****. There are many factors why prices go up in the summer, part of it is demand, part of it is several refineries loose capacity for repairs, ect....... The oil producers are not the ones setting the price for this ****, so if you want to blame someone for the prices, maybe you should phone wall street and tell them what the price of this very precious commodity should be.
Depends on your area. When I do find an E0 station, I make a note of it and base my fueling schedule on it. In the Madison area it is generally limited to Phillips 66, Sinclair, Citgo, some Mobil and some Shell stations that do not sell blended fuels.
I drive my wife nuts when we are low on fuel and I pull up to a station to find all blended fuels, then drive off to find another station that doesn't sell blended fuels. If push comes to shove, I'll buy just enough blended fuel to get me to the next stop and let the managers know why my gas bill was only $6.00. It is a matter of principle when blended fuels sell as much as non blended. Gas stations receive tax breaks for selling blended fuels, but do not pass on that savings. I believe that savings is a net of $0.18/gallon advantage for the station owner.
With price pressure, most stations in our state will sell 87 octane as E10. However, you may find other grades not blended. On that note, when my local Mobil station decided to sell mid-grade as blended, I wrote a letter and talked to the station owner over the phone about my concern. He agreed to revert back to non blended fuels for mid-grade. I'll see if I can dig up the letter I wrote as it might be on my wife's laptop.

Thanks Musky Hunter. I attempted to run 93 non blended once in my truck but with my timing advance i started to get an audible tick from the engine. Went back to 87 and the tick went away.
Hey have you ever noticed that Kwik Trip gas stations sell 87/89 E10 at the same price?

Thanks! That link, and the pdf available on it, is super helpful.
Unfortunately, it looks like most of us live in states that don't require pump decals declaring the use of E10, so when you see an ethanol sticker you may just be at an honest gas retailer. Not seeing one of these stickers at your favorite station doesn't rule out E10 at all, if you live in one of these states.
Someone in a position of authority needs to get on top of this and require the open and honest disclosure of the use of E10. I think a good percentage of Americans are aware of the efficiency loss of ethanol.
The more you learn about corn ethanol, the more you realize it's nothing more than a government-backed racket.

It is that reason I don't buy Kwik Trip gas and haven't for the last 10 years or so. All grades are E10 around here.

There used to be 1 up here in cheyenne that was straight. Loved putting the 91 into the bike. I haven't gone searching around yet for a new station though.
Also, there is only 1 E85 station here, so they jacked their prices WAY up. Not even .10$ less then regular gas. Totally NOT worth it for that price.

I filled up this afternoon at a Wally World (Murphy Oil) and they had fresh 10% ethanol stickers on the pump. They even had a cardboard corn cob zip tied to the hose!!! I have been filling up there for quite some time - this is the first time a sticker has shown up, but if I were a betting man I would say that they have been selling eth10 for a while.
