Yes it does vary, But would it come and go? Seems like when it runs for a while it does it, then if I shut it off and let it cool, then start it back up, Let it run for a little then it comes back. Maybe the crack is expanding with heat. Sounds logical. It's funny you mention the cracked manifold my Brother said it sounds like an exhaust leak also. Thanks
i had this problem both my manifolds were cracked thats probly the sound the dealer said they wouldn't cover it cause i have 86 thousand miles on it but my truck was certified nissan i guess and i called 1800nissan1 and they got it fixed for me for 50 bucks the deductable
Well call them up and rearrange it! They can rearrange the schedule at your stealership long enough to get some headers in...
I'm gonna stop by the stealers in the AM to see what there working on. They also had to replace the Heater box and the whole front Diff Assy. Hopefully they don't stock the exhaust manifolds. That will give me some time to get some headers.
where is the best place to look for a cracked header? any specific spot??
I too have a ticking noise that comes and goes..
Just look around on the exhaust manifolds for carbon buildup, That's usually a sign of a leak in that area. I think that there is one point on the manifold that was prone to cracking due to not enough support and I guess the whole exhaust system is putting pressure on the manifolds. Don't quote me though. I'm sure someone will chime in. I won't know till tomorrow exactly where mine are cracked. Just take it in and tell them about the ticking that comes and goes and it sounds like an exhaust leak.
