You need a reverse terminal version.

If it is the height and width yes it should fit.

Why are going with a Optima? Are you replacing the factory battery?

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

optima R34 will fit. just did the conversion myself. you will have to do something like this so that it will work, but its well worth it. also, advance usually will have this battery in stock, where most other auto parts places will have to order it.

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

Link isn't coming through, I would be interested in seeing this though. Also, just a heads up...those prices at Advanced are not firm. I was able to talk them down to $125 for my Optima Red Top.

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

My work firewall blocks the links too... I think what he's showing is an extention for the positive terminal side. Mine looks like your typical audio guy's terminal connector, but with a post on top to get it closer to the cable as the positive cable really doesn't have much length.

And as other have stated - it's the 34R...

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

You will need an extension for the positive terminal. I ran a top post to power take off post cable (the kind used for dual battery set ups) and connected the existing terminal to the top post of the cable. Wrapped some electrical tape around the terminal-post of the cable to avoid any shorts. Has worked great so far.

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

There are two red tops......one works and one doesnt!!!! I found out the hard way. bestatchess is right.......the terminals are in different locations. And unless you want to run longer cables forget it!!!!

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

I had to modify the battery box so that my RT would fit. The adapters they provide did not secure it good enough. A dremel and a longer bolt with washers fixed it. Then just add the posative terminal extension and your golden.

Re: Will a OPTIMA 34 RedTop Battery fit?

pics...

First pic is the post extender thingy. Second is the factory hold down - only the spiffy battery box is missing because the optima is way smaller than the stock battery.
