Question Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

Has anyone used any of these tires for their Titan? I want an All Terrain tire and I do not know much about any of these brands. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I live in PA and need them for highway, mud, snow and rain.

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

I just put Toyo Open Country AT's on my truck. So far they have been outstanding in the crappy weather we've had here (I live in Delaware). I couldn't give you a review on mud, but I imagine they would do ok within limits. I looked at Kumho's also, but I read a lot of reviews about them wearing out quickly. I went with the Toyos due to the price ($610 installed) and treadwear warranty (50,000 miles). They have also received good reviews from others on the board. I attached some pics. Hope that helps.

Not sure if you're limiting yourself to those brands, but if not, check out the Nitto's as well. I've had the Terragrapplers on for about 2k miles and have been extremely impressed with their wet traction.

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

I have had Kumho's and now have Toyo's. I wouldn't know how many miles I would have gotten out of the Kumho's because I tore up both sets, but in their defedse, they were race compound tires. My Toyo's on the other hand, I would expect to get 40 - 50K out of them. For a M/T, they are surprisingly quiet! They are as quiet as my old BFG A/T's......

Where did you buy them BK19702? I want LT285/65R18 (which they make in Toyo's) but I haven't started shopping yet, but need too within the next couple of months...

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

I'll second the Nittos, I have a the terragraplers now and low them, great in any on road weather and I've had no trouble in the mud either! I did have the bridgestone duellers on a previous vehicle and loved them too!

Delaware Tire. They're on 896 right across from the U of D Sports Complex. They sell Michelin, BFG, and Toyos primarily.

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

Do you have 18's or 17's?

Choices are limited for the 18's and went with the Michelin cross terrain. Tire. Michelin had the best tread wear warranty and I had been a michelin fan for years. So far I have 30k on them and they are wearing very good. I should get 50-60k miles out them. they are not cheap though. They do great in the water and I they have served me well in the Georgia clay.

I have the toyo ats and they're smooth as glass on good roads but I feel every pebble I hit.

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

I have the Kuhmo tires on and love them. Great on road and I have put about 30k miles on them and still have tread left on them. As far as off road I havent done much but what little I have done them have held up fine. Also no problems in the snow since I travel to the mountains about once a week.

Michelin tires are awesome.

No 18s available in town though. I bought the Toyo AT, LT285/65R18. Great winter traction, but the ride is a tad bit harsh. I'm happy with them though. Only about 5kmi on them, but they seem to be holding up well.

Thanks! I've gotten tires from them before, they were pretty good. I'm on the north side of Wilmington now and I keep hearing good things about Ron's Discount tires (nahmans and marsh) - just don't know what he can get...

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

Kinda depends on what sizes you're looking at too. The Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos have great feedback in OEM sizes for all-weather onroad use including dirt roads. I must say though, I LOVE my TerraGrapps!!!!

Nice perk with Delaware Tire is the free tire rotations through them (for the life of the tire).

Re: Kuhmo, Firestone, or Toyo Tires?

From your choices the Toyo is probably best but I would recomend going with the Nitto Terra Grappler. That is what I am running and it is awesome although I don't have a titan.

The Kuhmo If I am not mistaken looks the best as far as the tire design. Have you looked at the Mickey Thompson ATz?
