Noise from A$$ end

I dont think I noticed this noise before. Now when I hit big curbs and speed bumps the A$$ end makes a rattling noise. I think its the tow hitch system. At first I thought it was the ball hitch rattling around. Has anyone noticed this?

I know mine rattles when I go over a speed bump or one of the many discrepancies in the roads around here, but honestly I tend to think it's normal, as I had the same thing happen with my Tundra. It's not the tow hitch, but probably the tailgate being jarred around a little, which I don't think is abnormal at all. Personal preference I guess

Re: Noise from A$$ end

I haven't noticed that problem with my Titan, but my old 99 GMC used to make a clunking/rattling sound over bumps, and it was the spare tire underneath...

Re: Noise from A$$ end

Make sure you check the shackles at the rear end of your leaf springs. One of mine broke and the leaf spring held the truck up by the thin box metal for about a week, made a big dent and a hole in the box. But it made a noise that you could only really notice while going over speed bumps or easing over curbs at the drive-through.

Re: Noise from A$$ end

Hitch might rattle. Remove and try. Spare tire loose, if you have the lockable box on the side, might be something in there making noise. Check tailgate.
