I just picked-up my tow mirrors....I have been wanting them for a while now!
Something you might want to check out, and I hate to say it, are the F-250 tow mirrors. They are made by the same company that the Nissans are. I looked at the mounting and it's the exact same as a Titan but I am not sure about the 1:1..........Also if anyone would like to buy a set of non-tow mirrors
(black) I will be interested in selling them...........
Would the non-tow mirrors fit where my tow mirrors are? Would it be seamless and easy to install?
I'm still convinced the vast majority of people have no clue how to set their mirrors properly. As far as I'm concerned, if your upper mirror shows anypart of the truck's side they are set wrong. The lower mirror should indeed show a portion of the truck's side, but not the uppers.
I find my mirrors to be fantastic, and the fact that they are 1:1 is even better because I hate that whole "objects may appear closer than they are" thing.
Sorry you don't like your mirrors, but some of the brain trust here has indeed offered up some good suggestions.

I'm not too thrilled with the narrow field of view on the large, passenger side BT mirror. I would like it to have a slightly wider field of view as well. I'll have to see how useful it is when I hook up my trailer in the spring.

I would have to relearn to drive if you took away my big tow mirrors. I like the "objects are exactly as far away as the appear" feature of the top half. Took some getting used to when I first got them. Now, no blind spots anywhere (except at the front pillar).

I drive firetrucks and they have lots of mirrors which you have to rely on 100%. Your main mirror should show just the line of your vehicle no more than that so they are more or less perpendicular to the vehicle, otherwise your field of view is off. The convex mirror (blind spot) mirror(s) are priceless.
That is the only thing I miss about not having tow mirrors on my truck.

My main beef is with the large section of the passenger side (1:1). Driving forward is fine while towing. The problem is backing up. I'm always backing into my customers driveways and since there is rarely room for a straight shot, I'm always coming at it from an angle. Once I've got the trailer turning, all I can see in the large section of that mirror is a closeup of the side of the trailer so I have to strain my neck or adjust the mirror....then adjust again once I've straightened it out. This is made even worse when the driveway either dips or climbs as now all I can see is the ground or sky. The lower mirror helps, but is small and narrow.
Just installed my new tow mirrors, pretty easy. Only 4 bolts hold the thing on
and where easy to get too. I did have to remove the door panels to get to the plug connector but no big deal. The stock "non-tows" are now off and for sale....any takers?
I love my BT mirrors. Yeah the field of view is smaller than normal- so i just adjusted them to look out further and adjusted the convex (lower) mirrors to compensate. I essentially have no blind spot with the way i have my mirrors set up. and i loved the mirrors when i was working for Nissan dealership, could park the titan on a dime with those mirrors. Now it's the non-BT mirrors that i hate, can't see worth anything out of those!
I don't get the problem here. If I can back a 31' TT with no problem, anyone can do it! Use the convex mirror....make sure it's adjusted properly and yeah, you may have to use the power mirror switch to move the main mirror at times but those BT mirrors rock!

I agree with you - when I back up with my 23' TT, I'm using the convex mirror on the passenger side - these mirrors are excellent compared to what you get on some other trucks.

Im with alot of others, these are by far the best mirrors i have ever used on a 1/2 ton truck. Thats one thing that sold me on the titan. I am kinda used to the F250 mirrors and loved them.

These BT mirrors are one of the most favorite features of my Titan and I could never live without them. I'm currently driving a rental Titan which has the standard mirrors and I hate it...I can't wait to get my truck back. It so hard to change highway lanes without those blind spot mirrors and I kinda like the fact that the right side mirror is 1:1.
and yeah, you may have to use the power mirror switch to move the main mirror at times
That's exactly what I have to do and it bugs me. Never had to adjust it with my Tundra. I think maybe the difference here is that I'm backing into a different place 20-30 times a week. I can stick the trailer into my warehouse easily enough as I know the surroundings, but when I've got to back it up a winding, inclined driveway for the first time and then park it in between my customers Porsche and MB because they didn't clear the way for a delivery they've known about for 3 months (sarcasm, rich people are the worst customers) then it just makes my job harder.
I'm glad many like the big toe mirrors as I'll be selling my soon, but why do you need such a close up view from the passenger side? I just don't get the advantage. It's like walking around with tunnel vision.
