I 4th it.... I was driving my wife's Altima the other day and those tiny mirrors were really hard to look through! Maybe I can put the BT mirror on her car too!

I'm still convinced the vast majority of people have no clue how to set their mirrors properly. As far as I'm concerned, if your upper mirror shows anypart of the truck's side they are set wrong. The lower mirror should indeed show a portion of the truck's side, but not the uppers.
I find my mirrors to be fantastic, and the fact that they are 1:1 is even better because I hate that whole "objects may appear closer than they are" thing.
Sorry you don't like your mirrors, but some of the brain trust here has indeed offered up some good suggestions.
I couldn't agree with you more. I think the problem is people, who don't like the BT mirrors, do not know how to adjust the mirrors. Do they know the lower convex mirrors are adjustable too?!! If your mirrors are adjusted correctly, you should have zero blindspots when backing. I love my BT mirrors, makes backing into even unfamiliar terrain easy.

I've adjusted them a hundred times. The lower portion is nice, but won't give me a view of the top and bottom of my trailer simultaneously...I've gotta adjust to one only. I like the size of the mirrors, I'm just having a problem understanding why the top/larger portion of the passenger side mirror is a 1:1 ratio. What is the advantage? Obviously you see less in the field of view so that's not it. So there must be some advantage to seeing things on that side of the vehicle closer up. No big deal with the 1:1 on the drivers side since you're so close to the mirror you can easily adjust your viewing angle by leaning forward, back, up or down. Not so much with a mirror 4 ft away from you.
My perfect passenger side mirror would have them both convex (top and bottom sections).

Someone please tell me what I'm missing.
I think the reason behind the 1:1 ratio is for more percision backing. With that ratio you can tell exactly how far away objects are without having to guesstimate (objects are closer that they appear mirrors), this lets you get closer to objects more reliably. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
They are hideous. I have an LE without BT and sometmes drive one with it and it is awful. The are big and ugly and take a long time to get used to. First thing that I told my ordering dealer..."I don't care how it comes equipped, but I don't want those BT mirrors."
Easiest solution is to switch out to non-BT mirrors by going to the dealer, a junkyard, or wtchng on the buy/sell thread. I doubt highly that your "backing accuracy" will go down.

You're not backing anything lengthy with those puny little LE mirrors. Talk about having to constanly adjust while backing, no way!
