Picked up my 08 Pro4x about two months ago and love it. Only some small things that bugged me: rearview mirror reflection, annoying sonar, tailgate not level with bed when open, hard to see temp knobs and the passenger side mirror. I've gotten used to them all except the passenger side tow mirror....it's useless. The small bottom part is ok, but the top is just terrible because it is a 1:1 reflection whereas most other passenger side mirrors are the "objects are closer than they appear" type that give you a larger view.
I tow a cargo trailer all the time for work. With my 04 Tundra I could back that thing into a one car garage from a 90 degree angle using nothing but the passenger side mirror....now I'm straining my neck trying to see what I'm backing into.
Does anybody know of a replacement for the big part of the passenger side tow mirror....something I could maybe just stick on...I don't care if the heater/defrost doesn't work. Thanks!
Go to a glass shop and maybe they can get you a stick on replacement that magnifies intended for a different truck that could be shaped to fit.

Same thoughts here. You're not alone.
Outside of the fact they can extend out for towing purposes, I find the towing mirrors to have less real world usefulness than normal mirrors.
You need width in a mirror in my opinion. The normal, non-convex portion of both mirrors is really narrow. I find myself using the tiny lower mirrors on both sides almost all of the time.

All the other vehicles I've owned have the "objects may be closer than they appear" written on them. The Titan is a 1:1 ratio and I'm having a hard time getting used to it. I use the convex mirrors on these trucks more than the big mirrors.
I agree. I'd be happy I paid for the BT package if it only came with the mirrors.

I would pay for the tow package just to have them. I always use the bottom mirrors. When I drive any vehicle that does not have them it drives me crazy and I am always looking over my shoulder. Once you get used to using them I think they are great!!

I feel the exact opposite. I don't reallly like the way the tow mirrors look so opted for the offroad without tow just for the regular mirrors. I really like the way Dodge does their tow mirrors better than the way Nissan did theres but thats my opinion.

I just picked-up my tow mirrors....I have been wanting them for a while now!
Something you might want to check out, and I hate to say it, are the F-250 tow mirrors. They are made by the same company that the Nissans are. I looked at the mounting and it's the exact same as a Titan but I am not sure about the 1:1..........Also if anyone would like to buy a set of non-tow mirrors
(black) I will be interested in selling them...........
