Can anybody give me an average estimate of what fixing a dent would cost?

I was about to go to my final class of the day. The wind is going CRAZY blowin over signs and stuff, but I go to open my door and as soon as I release the hatch the wind catches the door before I can grab hold and swings into the mirror of the car next to me. Did not do anything to their mirror but dented right below my handle. Not to bad but it does not look pretty at all... ....So I was wondering if anybody knows of an estimate to get that fixed so I do not get a sh##y deal.

If the dent can't be PDR'ed, then it won't be cheap. I'd say $400-$700 for a quality shop that will do the job right. There's a lot more work into fixing something like that properly than you might think.

I honestly think this dent will not be a problem to fix but 400 to 700 even for a small dent?

see if you can suction/pop it back out. It all depends on how deep and shap of the dent i guess.

Doesn't really matter so much how nasty the dent looks to you, the same steps are still required. They still have to strip the door down to bare metal, fill the dent, smooth the dent, prime, and paint- including a blend probably.

If the dent isn't terribly big and it hasn't creased the sheetmetal, then don't worry too much. A good paintless dent repair guy can probably solve your problem for $100 or less.

Re: Can anybody give me an average estimate of what fixing a dent would cost?

I did this once and put a 12" crease in the door of my wife's brand new 350Z,it was repaired by a paintless dent guy for about $75 and you would never know to look at it.The work these guys are now doing is amazing.
If your dent is not too close to the edge of the door,I'm sure they can fix it !

Re: Can anybody give me an average estimate of what fixing a dent would cost?

I had a softball size dent on my drivers side front bumper, courtesy of a lady who was blind and deaf as she backed up into me....
anywaz, it was about $350 to fix that. I guess it all depends on what ur deductible is, but it will easily be at least 300 bucks id say.

Call a paintless dent guy. They will usually come by and give you a price for free. You would be amazed on what they can fix just prying on a dent using long rods from inside your door.

Depending on how bad the dent is maybe they guy could get it out in a couple of hours. Might only charge as little as $250 or so.

There are to many variables to be accurate. Call a paintless dent repair guy then if no good, next trip is to a body shop with free estimates. Good Luck.

Re: Can anybody give me an average estimate of what fixing a dent would cost?

Ya I think I going to call a dent guy to come buy, if this does not go well I will go to the repair shop. But I think calling the come to give me a quick estimate would be GREAT and if I get a deal under $100 I will be jumping up and down or ......you get the jiff but I will do that and keep you updated. Thanks again

Re: Can anybody give me an average estimate of what fixing a dent would cost?

here is a quick try. Depending on how big or what type of dent.....

Grab some windex and a plunger. Spray windex, apply plunger like you would a toilet. If it pops it out, all you need to do is clean the poo off If it doesn't, try again. I have got out a few dents this way.
