What size tire will fit on a 4x4 without having to get a lift?

Hi All,
I tried a search for "lift" and "larger tire" and I still could not really find the answer that I am looking for, so I am asking for input from anyone that owns a 4x4 with the stock suspension and has put larger tires on it...
I am considering buying a 2007 or 2008 Titan 4x4, and I would definitely want to replace the stock tires and wheels. I am looking at an 18x9 wheel and either 35 inch or 33 inch tires. Would I be able to fit 35 inch tires on the stock 4x4 without getting a lift? If not what is the largest tire size that would work without having to get an aftermarket lift? I have the Toyo M/T's on my current truck and I love them!
Has anyone here put those tires on their Titan 4x4 WITHOUT an aftermarket lift? If so, can you please give your input regarding 33 or 35 inch tires?
Thanks very much

What size tire you can run all depends on the backspacing and offset of the wheels you choose. I know with the stock wheels and some aftermarket wheels you can fit 33"x12.50"s stock. But if you're interested in adding a leveling kit, you can clear 35"x12.50"s.

Maybe... Depends on offset/backspacing. Search for 'Pinch Weld Mod'. Also - another term you'll hear thrown around here is PRG Pre Runner Greg (http://www.prgproducts.com/index.php). Greg is the man when it comes to titan lifts...

Anyway - depending on the wheel, with a prg mini-lift and the pinch weld mod, it can be done.

Re: What size tire will fit on a 4x4 without having to get a lift?

I just replaced my stock 18" wheels with a set of 20" MB Senna Rims and Nitto Terra Grappler 305/50-20 tires on my stock '07 SE 4x4. No rubbing, and the ride quality remains consistent. Very pleased with this new configuration. MB wheels are offered through discount tire. Before/After Pics can be seen under the Current Events pictures on the-rodgers.com
