OR Lights on Brush Guard

Anyone ever mounted OR lights to a brush/grille guard before? If so - did you drill holes in the guard rail or clamp them down? How did you secure the wiring?

Re: OR Lights on Brush Guard

Bump... I'm curious about this as well. Advance Auto has a Hella Optilux 1900 complete kit for $50.00 that I'm looking at, just trying to figure out how they'll mount onto the Brush Guard.

Re: OR Lights on Brush Guard

Yep!

Here's a picture of mine.

If your brush guard does not come with holes already...

1. Tap the spot where you want the holes to be drilled.
2. Drill a small pilot hole first and then widen it to the desired bore.

I recommend a long enough bolt to go through the top and bottom of the guard.

3. You may need to scrape away some of the powder coating for good ground.

lock washers and and lock bolts on the bottom, washers on the top of the grill guard (slightly bend them) to contour the guard.

4. Wiring-run the wiring from the hole through the tube to the lower grill.

5. Install the wiring as per the light instructions. You can determine if you want to run them from the fog lights or if you want to run them independently (I did that.)
