Re: No Diesel for 09

At this point, do we even want a diesel option? We are maxed out on diesel consumption in this country, we have NO reserve! With more diesel p/u's on the road it will only get worse! I prefer a 400hp gas engine with a good six-speed with active fuel management!

Re: No Diesel for 09

You mention six speed. I was on the JATCO (manufactorer of our trans) web site and they now have a 7 speed that will go into the Infinity M cars. Could we be next?

Re: No Diesel for 09

With Diesel hitting $4.40 a gallon here in NY, I don't see them rolling out a Diesel 1/2 ton anytime soon.

Re: No Diesel for 09

+$4 a gallon for diesel in Wisconsin. They can shelve it or produce it, either way I won't be buying one.

Doesnt this depend on what kind of MPG the Diesel will get, when it comes out? Because if you still end up saving money on a fillup, then why not.

Can someone calculate a breakeven point for how much better the diesel would have to be in order for it to save money, using current gas prices (which i know doesnt mean much but oh well)?

Don't count on a Diesel Maxima anytime soon. Right now, the only Diesel cars selling are the tiny, 40+ MPG variety, and even those are hurting.
