Air Horn or electric

Ok so i was originally looking into getting an actual air horn but they were way to expensive for the small amount of decibels gained over some of the less expensive kits. So i was wondering if anybody had installed a electric replacement horn or some of the cheaper air horns?
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...015247/c-10101
its 130 db and only $15 and its made by the same company that makes our stock horns so it should just mount right up.

This is the air horn its only $28 and it seemed pretty nice but a little more difficult to install.

This one just seems like alot of fun when you have friends riding with you lol.

Basically i'd just like some advice on these if any of you all have tried them or heard anything about them,
Thanks

Re: Air Horn or electric

Hey. I have one of the like $40 airhorns you get cant at places like Pepboys. I really like it. Sounds great and is pretty loud. The install was not that hard. I just hooked the mini compressor up to the stock horn wires and I drilled a hole on one of the stock horn mounts and mounted the compressor there. I have a sound clip that I took today that I will try to post tonight or tomorrow. There is another thread on here with some clips and discussion about the horns. Just do a search.

Re: Air Horn or electric

A friend had a similar "multi-sound horn" mounted to his CRX when we were in high school - was pretty funny. It probably doesn't fit the classiness of the Titan though, IMHO.

I second the cheap air horn solution.

Re: Air Horn or electric

I'll bet the train horn is effective in getting left lane sitters out of the way. Seems almost worth $600 if it works.

See my thread here:

135 dB Air Horn video

If you have a basic understanding of wiring the install isn't difficult at all. You can get these exact same horns off the shelf at O'Reiley's Auto Parts for $25.

oh its effective in getting anything out of the way, hahahahaha
or just to scare the sh*t out of anyone in the area.
I love it. I was going to buy a cheaper trainhorn kit on ebay and try to install it myself but the local shop won me over w/ a lifetime warranty. Which i have used about 4 times now. I had hose issues when i 1st got it then i replaced the cheap plastic tube with a real argon gas hose. Then had to replace the silinoid once too. all been taken care of for free including labor.

Re: Air Horn or electric

alright guys thanks for the advice. I think I might go with the air horn since you just mount it right up to the stock horn wires becuse im not much into wiring. I can install hardware all day long but when it comes to wiring its definately not my favorite thing.
The PA would be alot of fun i but i wasnt too sure about how loud it would be and i wasnt really sure where i could mount it at under the hood and also where i could mount the main control box without it looking bad
