Just bought a new 2008.5 Titan XE

Hello everyone,
I am very excited to be in the TitanTalk forum . After visiting several Nissan dealerships around the DFW metroplex i finally found my truck at the dealership in Lewisville, TX. Well it's actually in Oklahoma, but will be picked up on Monday. I traded my 2007 corvette in and bought the 2008.5 Nissan Titan XE crew cab with the popular package. I am adding a 6 inch suspension lift kit with wheels and tires. The dealership added an additional $5,000 for the lift kit, tires, and wheels. Is this a fairly good price for this work? They didn't actually get the quote from their customizing shop because they were closed at the time. Thanks for any help and i will be posting later in the week.

Also, i didn't get the Captain's seating but the front bench seats. I was a little hesitant about this. Has anyone ever got leather seating put in for bench seats?

Chris

Corvette to an XE??? WTF man are you that hurting for cash, if you want leather get it now before you buy because you will never be happy with adding stuff on. The XE is a work truck model, for contractors and such, at least get an SE or if you are set on leather get the LE. Your corvette should still have some value on trade. Welcome to the truck world

Re: Just bought a new 2008.5 Titan XE

I have a friend who traded in his 2007 'Vette for a Titan, but he got the SE crew cab 4x4.

Oh, and the XE is not always a work truck. Ever heard of the XE Preferred Package?

I think that's an oxymoron though. Not many prefer an XE! I think most would prefer that package was on a new SE or PRO!

I have an XE with the perferred package and big tow it does not look like a work truck and i have the bench seat for to have 6 pass instead of 5 with captains chairs, I also put in headrest monitors all the comforts of home, good luck on the new truck.

'Tis not the case...I am buying a truck to pull my Baja powerboat. And this was no cheap truck. Total price on the XE came out to 36,500 (est.) with my trade in and lift kit.

Re: Just bought a new 2008.5 Titan XE

Holy sh1t, that was alot of money for an XE...too bad because buying the XE means you will have a harder time selling it after you and done and the trade in value will be low. People usually look for at least an SE package. Not to knock all the folks out there that bought an XE because i do beleive that you should only buy what you can reasonably afford. (i bought my SE used) but if your such a baller with a Baja boat and a spare corvette, why are you driving around in the lowest level titan made?? There are always great looking lifted used titans (some are LE) on this site for sale for much much less than that.

According to Nissan's website, assuming its a 4x4, it looks like the guy gave him $1000 off MSRP

Seriously, heyitischris, you might want to see if you can renegotiate. That's a LOT of money for a truck that will not hold resale value like even an SE will. That also assumes that you are not way upside down on the vette.

Sorry pal, my comment was meant to be funny, not offensive to XE owners. I wasn't thinking.

Re: Just bought a new 2008.5 Titan XE

Wow, with all of the rebates going on and even after adding the $5k lift, you should not be paying more than $30k for an XE.

If they still have the truck at the dealership, go back andtry to renogitate.

Somethings not right here. Did that XE come with a Versa in the bed? How can you possibly get an XE up to $36k? I tried and tried on Nissans site, and I can't get it that high! I came up with about $32k and not stepping up to an SE at that price point is nuts IMHO.
