Front end issues??

Taking truck in soon to have a few issues checked out and want to see if anyone has had anything similiar. When turning left I get a rumble from the right side front. Turning right I get a rythmic thunking from the left side front. I have also noticed the truck wants to pull into expansion cracks and sometimes feels like it wiggles a little in the front end. Any ideas?

Re: Front end issues??

4wd i assume.

if the titan is like other nissan models, then it is normal.... broken cv generally clicks.

my other nissans have had that rumbling noise @ full turn since mile 20

Re: Front end issues??

Well, here's the update. Bad wheel bearings. They had to order them so I am in a nice 07 Taurus for a day. It was pretty funny though when I dropped it off this morning. Service Rep mentioned I did not have an extended warranty and said he didn't think the problem would be drivetrain and I would probably have to pay and pay for my own rental if needed. He said the thunking sound was probably bad struts. I told him that sounded like a good guess if the Titan used struts. IT HAS COILOVER SHOCKS! I also told him that bad struts don't tend to make rumbling noises or a consistant thunking noise as the wheel spins while turned.

Re: Front end issues??

Is that covered under the 5/56 warranty? If you can, can you get a price even if they do it as warranty work?

Is there a maintainence schedule for wheel bearings or any other front suspension part, like bushings (spelling?), or anything else?

Thanks in advance

Re: Front end issues??

Bearings are covered under the 60K warranty for the drive train. Nissan is picking up the tab for the rental because of it being warranty work.

Update: Called this afternoon around 4pm and it was just rolling in from the test drive. Was told one side was a royal PITA with the bearing removal. Tech checked in and bad news. Noise is still there. Service rep didn't say which noise or if both remained but it was a downer. Another day in the Taurus. At least I am not getting the "thats normal, they all do it" response. My service dept guys have been pretty good so far so I have faith in them.

As a side note I must say after driving this Taurus, an 07 SE, I can see why Ford fell on hard times. I can honestly say I might have been happier with a minivan. The interior is essentially unchanged from my grandfathers 98 model with the obvious exception of them ditching all the oval and circle themes. No remote entry and no CD player either. Noticed that when I went to play my 3y.o.'s music CD. He asked "Dada, whats a cassette?" Made me feel like a relic. I'd say the fusion and the new Taurus/500 were about 3 years too late IMHO.

Re: Front end issues??

Update: Got it back yesterday and so far so good.passenger side wheel bearings were shot. They said they could not duplicate drivers side noise. So far it hasn't done it and I have tried to make it. Was told my brakes were marginal which was correct. Drivers side is worn more than passenger side. Keeping a close eye on it as I don't need problems at 60,001 miles!
