Arrow Installing flowmaster super 44 SI/DO soon

I am going to be installing the new flowmaster super 44 series muffler soon with a 3"SI and 2.5" DO setup. I talked to a local shop about the install and they quoted me $450 originally. I asked why so much and they said the flowmaster super 44 is around $150. I told them no way I have seen them listed for as little at $70, so they said I buy the muffler on my own and they will install with DO's going to rear side exits on both sides of truck with chrome tips for $250 out the door. I said sounds like a deal. So e-bay has the muffler for $85 shipped, anyone seen it cheaper than this? I hope to have it installed within the next 30 days. I will post pics and a sound clip when I get it installed...can't wait.

Re: Installing flowmaster super 44 SI/DO soon

I have read more threads about people taking off the flowmasters than putting them on. Sorry.

Same with the new Super 44? If so, why?

Most have been because it's "too cheap" of a sound and that the performance isn't there.

Re: Installing flowmaster super 44 SI/DO soon

Wait a damned minute !!!

Mine and others have been around for many years and are still kicking a$$ and taking names !!!!

The difference in HP between any named brand muffler is so minimal that it doesn't make a fricking squat !!!

Check the numbers !!

Re: Installing flowmaster super 44 SI/DO soon

I agree with RedNeck....

Some people on this site have their Titans shoved so far up there @zz that they will say anything to get you to do the same Mod's they did.....Magnaflow, Banks, Flowmaster.... I have heard the same do's and don'ts about all of them!

I have Flowmaster and I like it. I think that it Could sound better but I'm pretty picky and I'm sure I wouldn't totally love any muffler I put on. For the price of 250 its worth it. However, I would check around. I had my 50 Series installed for 300...ended up being 350 out the door by the time they ****ed me over... with DI/DO and 18" X 4" chrome tips...

I have seen super 44 series on Autoparts.com and other sites for around 80-85 shipped. The super 44 is a really loud muffler so be prepared!

Yea, I like it, exactly what I am looking for. I am sure the wifey won't be too happy to ride in the truck after it is installed....but that is why I bought her a new 2008 Toyota Camry...that way she can drive in her car if she doesn't like the truck when I am finished with it. Thanks for the vid matthews, definitely gave me a better idea of how it will sound.
