Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

Nisan has an addon kit to help eliminate the infamous squeek. It consist of a small bracket and some plastic strips that wrap around the springs, replacing an original part. Cost about 15 bucks. I bought it, but haven't installed yet. They are laying around somewhere. Got it from "Bodean", don't know if he is on this site. It was an item serviced by Nissan on early Titans like yours. Some guys spray Silicone (Not WD40) on the Springs and bushings to eliminate it. I keep my rear window rolled up, that works for me.

Easier fix....spray the rear leaf springs and shackles with WD-40. Problem solved.

Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

There was a TSB on this. I got mine fixed for free, although it was when i was still under the 36k miles warranty.

I attached the TSB .

Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

Check your spare tire. I thought I had a rear suspension squeek too. Any motion at the rear end made a squeek. I got under the truck and started looking for the culprit. I found that the spare had a little slack and was allowing it to move just enough to squeek. It sounded exactly like a leaf spring was squeeking.

I had the TSB done on my truck....didn't do it. The old WD-40 worked.

Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

Because WD-40 contains Petroleum Distillates, which may deterioate Rubber, Silicone spray is recommended by some.

Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

I have been spraying lube on leaf springs both on my truck and boat trailer and works like a champ. By the way, WD40 isn't a lubricant, it is a solvent that helps stuck parts get loose, displaces water, hence the wrongly used "lubricant" term. Use a teflon lubricant for long life or silicone. TriFlow has worked the best for me and does not need frequent applications.

Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

Man Mine is squeaking so bad. Everytime I brake, hit the gas, make a turn etc.. it squeaks soo loud. I checked and it is my leafs. I sprayed a lube on it but it didn't do anything. Shoot what else can i do. this is definately a pet peave for me.

I solved it lastt ime by going mudding, took care of it. I don't feel like getting the truck dirty right now though to fix it.

Re: Squeaky rear suspension on my 04????? help

I have an 08' and it is doing it too. I took it to the dealership and they said they couldn't do anything about it and that it was because they were cold. I don't care how cold it is an 08' shouldn't make a peep I am having problems with the brakes squeeking too.
