Hella Lights Wiring *Help*

Okay so I bought the 500ff from wally world. I bought two sets and have them wired to run right now off of just one relay and switch. Does this work?

My other question is: The wiring diagrams show a connection to the high beam from the relay. In the diagram there are three wires coming off the high beam wires, on the actual high beam wiring harness there are just two wires, positive and negative. I've tried just tying into the high beam positive but got nothing.

I know some of ya'll are running these lights - how did you hook them up?

Are these driving lights? Why are you tying them into the hi beams at all?
You want these to come on with the hi beams?

Re: Hella Lights Wiring *Help*

well how do u want to wire them? do u want them to come on with the hi beam only or do u want to just flip them on with a switch, or do u want them to come on with your hi beam but be able to bypass to turn them on when u want, theres alot of different ways to hook it up with a relay. need more input on what you want.

Regarding the high beams - I was just going by what the instructions said for installation. I'd like to have them come on whenever, even with the lights off. But it looks like the relay needs input from the head light source to help switch it over.

Re: Hella Lights Wiring *Help*

1st of all, run 1 relay per pair of lights, but you can run both from 1 switch.
Since you want to be able to run them whenever, forget trying to tie into the high beams. You need a seperate switch. Then you can run battery power straight to the relays and the switch but I would recommend a 15 amp fuse to the switch.
Hope this helps.

the ground from the relay needs to be connected to the - of the high beams. This is only to close the relay to let the power flow from the battery. The lights will only come on when the high beams are lit.
