Makes you feel good....

When you get a nice compliment on the truck (when it is nice outside, I will get a picture up).

I pulled up at the local farm supply store to get a bale of straw to cover the grass I just planted. There are a lot of people standing around outside watching a couple of dogs play, they all of Fords Chevys and Dodges; about 15 trucks outside in all. As I pull in the woman taps her husband and points at the truck. They are all talking, she peps up and says "sorry to bother you but that is one of the nicest looking trucks I have seen in a long time" and her husband agreed and even shook my hand! She told him they should go buy one and (I quote) "get rid of that stupid ford".

Some of the other guys agreed, and then one guy HAD to say it, "ya, it is nice for a truck made in Japan". I politely informed him that it is made in Mississippi, and then proved it and showed him the little assembled sticker, I then asked him to go see what city in Mexico his Ram was built in! (I did not bother to tell him the Nissan one would be built there in a few years) He shut up and said "nice truck" and walked away.

Just a great feeling! Thought I would share.

Re: Makes you feel good....

I can't believe some domestic truck owners are still so ignorant about import vehicles made today. The funny thing is, if the Titan was actually made back in Japan, the quality would be leaps and bounds better than any other fullsized PU. If Nissan decided to build the current Titan in Japan, maybe we would have a "real" next gen Titan for 2011?

Re: Makes you feel good....

I was just logging on to post a thread about the same thing you talk about. Lately, I have had a flood of compliments on my Titan. It's a 2007 LE, Red Brawn. It is all factory except for the tri-fold soft tonneau cover and bug shield I added. Since I live 220 miles from the nearest dealership, there are very few Titan nearby.... maybe two or three that I see from time to time. I've had at least six people stop and talk to me about my truck just in the last two days. My wife says she has always noticed people checking it out as we drive down the street. My guess is people here in the northern most part of Michigan are just happy because it is finally spring. After a long, cold and snow filled winter (over 250 inches) we had our first 50 degree day last week and even a couple in the 60's. The titan is a great truck and very unique too. Made me have a new appreciation for my truck, which I've had for 13 months and 10,000 miles.
