Torque converter not unlocking?

On my 08, I feel what I would describe as a lot of drive line slap as I let on/off the gas at higher speeds. I had a Ford truck that did this and dealer corrected the problem with a updated ecm flash. The converter is supposed to unlock when you let off for a smooth transition, and then lock up again after resumning the pedal, but mine usually does not.
Anyone else experience this?
Terry

Re: Torque converter not unlocking?

I can only speak for my '04, but I notice the same thing. There are some other threads on here that state this is a feature. If you just tap the gas, it will unlock and you will coast as normal. I would link to the other posts, but I am far too lazy, so you will have to find them yourself.

Re: Torque converter not unlocking?

My 06 did not do that and my 05 armada does not do this either. The only thing I can think of that could be different is that my 08 is a 4x4, but this still is not right.
