Re: xm radio

I got BOMBARDED with phone calls and mail. I elected not to reup the XM subscription at this time, and yes. Driving along one day, and it just reset itself to basic stuff. They were REALLY pushy with me trying to get me to continue. They have a job to do, I understand that, but high pressure sales are stupid!

Re: xm radio

I don't have sat but what I do for music since Madison has squat for alternative rock, I have "FairStars Recorder". I go to 181fm.com find the station I want, hit the record button on FairStars for 6 hrs....records as an mp3.

Re: xm radio

My sirius just stopped at the end of 3 months. I immediately bought a 2year subscription. Couldn't imagine my 30 mile Houston commute now w/out satellite radio!

Re: xm radio

Mine stayed on for about 5 months because my dealership forgot to tell them they sold my truck, so I got a couple months for free. But the eventually caught up and sent me a bunch of stuff and called a couple of times. I let them know I installed my old sirius in my truck because XM sucks, but if the I am going on a long trip and will miss the Red Sox games, I will subscribe for a month or so LOL!

You'll get mailings very soon. Mine started about 2 months in on the 3 months free promo. It won't just go off when they cancel it, but it'll once you turn it off and back on again. Call em' when you do get it.....when you tell them you don't want it, be sure to say IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE", they'll take a few bucks off....usually.

Re: xm radio

I purchased my truck back in March and my free trial ends in a few days/weeks. I've been getting letters in the mail reminding me that my free trial subscription is going to end and also received phone calls from them weekly.

Re: xm radio

its been like 2 months since i unplugged mine ( i want to move it and havent yet ) but when your reception gets low for a while it will default to channel 1/0, and even get stuck on it for a while. annoying.

call them and tell them you will cancel. they will give you a discount then.. from 12 to like 10 a month

Re: xm radio

I have a 06. Do our trucks come with everything to get XM. I have the RF radio with a sat. button. Can I use sirius instead? When we bought my girlfriends 06 mazda3 the sirius was already turned on. 14 months later and it is still on and we never paid a penny for it. I had XM in my jeep and I like sirius ALOT better and would rather have that if its not too tough to change over.

Re: xm radio

I had a Sirius Starmate that was originally in my Maxima, I just went to the local stereo shop and had them install it in the little tray area on the dash above the radio. Looks sharp and you get a lot more features over the built in receiver.

If your girlfriend's Mazda gets it free for a couple years or something, you can have your radio put on her account and you will only pay about $8 a month, that is what we did when my wife's jeep came with a year free.

When I get home from work tonight I will post a pic of my install.

Re: xm radio

I just dont want to comtact sirius about my girlfriends radio and then have to start paying for it. I dont know if the previous owner of her car is still paying and doesnt realize it or if sirius forgot to disable the free time. XM used to forget to shut the free intro period all the time when I work for a dealership. We would get people coming in to turn there 2 year lease in all the time and the xm was still working and it was only a 3 month offer.

Re: xm radio

my 08 comes with the XM, but I like Sirius better. I installed the Starmate into my truck that I used for my 06 Titan. I own a 07 VW that has Sirius already installed and with 3 months free. I called Sirius and had the turn off the Starmate and activate the VW's and 10 months later I bought the 08 Titan. I installed the Starmate, when I turn it on it was still activated so I'm still not paying fo it

Re: xm radio

XM202 is on in my truck about 90% of the time. I spend at least 5 hours a day in the truck.

Opie and Anthony in the morning....

Ron and Fez....noon to 3!

Re: xm radio

I let my three months expire and they disconnected the service. They kept calling me and i told them it was not worth the $12-13 a month. One time they called and said they want me to try it again and gave me 5 month for $20. The only issue is I have to remember to cancel or they will start charging me the regular monthly rate. It won't be a problem because it is the same time as the twins birthday. I traded my 04 Titan for my 08 in November 07 and so far the truck has 2500 miles only. Not worth it.
